The Main difference is that in Sc1 you were "yourself"...
While here you are Raynor. So...yeah
I did not mind Zeratul's tutorial-ish comments.

This doesn't make any sense at all. If you are indeed playing as raynor experiencing the memories of Zeratul then much like in the dark templar saga Zeratul should be guiding you through the memories. He should not be talking to himself about things that should be obvious to seasoned dark templar. Have you ever heard the term expository dialogue? In terms of storytelling it's usually a no no.

I meant that in Sc1 you were the "Magistrate/Commander" which in turn was meant to be the player. Instead here you are Raynor.
And i think that the crystal recorded thoughts as well. It was the whole experience from Zeratul's point of view.

Sorry, I guess I was unclear, I understand what you meant about being the Magistrate. I just meant that it doesn't make any sense to justify the terrible expository dialogue using the reason that you play as Raynor.
That's exactly the problem. It makes Zeratul out to be a terribly retarded character. Let me give you an example, I'm a beginner when it comes judo but when I'm in a match I've never thought to myself, "my opponent is circling to the right so I should start to circle the opposite direction and catch him in a shoulder throw. I just try it right away to see if it works, or I do a foot sweep. Characters saying things to themselves that they normally wouldn't for the sake of the viewer really breaks the story down. It's just bad writing. There's always a more creative way to work in the communication of what to do.

You do actually think about it, you just never notice that you think about it because you execute it before you notice that you think about it.. And by then it is irrelevant since it is executed. But since Protoss are telepaths they may speak audibly to themselves...Or...Something.
But I agree with you.

And maybe Protoss since protoss use thoughts to talk he maybe thought it through and we heard it since we were reading his memories...
Far-fetched explanation but its better than the "He has become senile" theory.

Ye thats true, but it could have been a little better
Remember the second sc1 mission?
Attacking:
Zerg building
Raynor - Blast it boys!
Repairing:
Vulture - Ye fix my back while you are on it
etc.
