When do the expansions come out again? (Sorry if this has been asked)

I'm guessing that Heart of the Swarm won't be out until about 1.5 years from now

So, if I had to guess, end of 2011 / beginning of 2012!

I believe that their cinematics department and developers departments work completely on a different timelines.
I bet that right now they already finished at least most (if not all) of HotS's cinematics, and just need to build all the missions, record voice acting etc.
Therfore, I think that HotS won't be delayed, and it'll be released much earlier than you expect.
Hopefully I'm right.

My concern is not about how much time the content would take, but rather how much time they dedicate to SC2, instead of Diablo 3, WoW etc.

D3 and WoW have completely separate teams, same for their unannounced games so dont worry about time spent

expansion also update and improve the editor everytime they come out, so it's new campaign, new multiplayer units, upgrade editor, and possibly upgrade graphics? (prolly a tweak)

The biggest thing I'd like to see in the expansions that doesn't already go without saying is heaps and heaps of new models and animations. Also I think a lot of existing animations could be improved, ie have marines walk out of a factory instead of just pop out of nowhere. The new transport drop animations are so simple but really make it seem much more natural and cool. Not that I'm unsatisfied

But does that include their film department?

No. It's the same team but it's not like they're just a few people. Still, cinematics from one game do cut into the other.

yeah, but it's hard to imagine that the cinematics department would be the part to hold up a game, usually they already have those planned out ahead of time (i think?)
