While other games have done this, Dragon Age as a very good example, I don't think it really suits Blizzard or the StarCraft Universe. Blizzard initially said that the trilogy will have this kind of mechanic, but its extremes were reduced to kill the lore problems. While its still possible that you will see changes in the personality of some characters like Tychus and Matt. (Blizzard said in one of their latest SP shoutcasts that Trychus would look for the bad Jim while Matt would sought out for the good Raynor)
Both teories are possible, but I would dislike incoungruencies of this level. Both cinematics indicate that you might never see Hanson again, but still my mind wouldn't rest down knowing that a character's plot was not completely true.
Besides looking at the research progress and such, i believe you might need Hanson for most of the campaign. Probably this cinematics might be close to the end of WoL.
Edit: If the videos keep comming up at this rate of contain and events we might get the 34 minutes of promised cinematics by Blizzard.
Edit 2: BUCEPHALUS lol someone had knowledge of OLD Greek history

Do you think that the mysterious HEV round and Valerian and his mobius fondation might be conected.
V said he can help him in saving Kerrigan, maybe that round contains a nano virus. Would also explain why a single round has been given so much atention by Blizzard.
edit:
It's actualy labeled as cinematic 11, so it looks it's quite early in the story.

The HEV round is probably just the type of rounds that rifle uses. They probably added the shot of it hitting the ground for dramatic effect.

What? Isn't that HEV round just that? A round?
He already used one to kill a Hydralisk that was attacking Horace Warfield. That's why he cocked the rifle at the end.
Edit: This
Also, what the hell? Since when were marines so vulnerable to flashbangs and getting hit against a wall? Tychus ramming into a guy I can understand, the jolt probably reached into the suit, but a flashbang? They had their freaken visors down too.The HEV round is probably just the type of rounds that rifle uses. They probably added the shot of it hitting the ground for dramatic effect.
