I hate how they never include my graphic card in any of these reviews. *sigh* My card can beat any card on the market right now. Any way I like the frame rates I am seeing here but I really hate how they have no DirectX11.![]()

Mikill, which one is that? I fell on a lot of extra money after a deployment so I managed to snag a 5970 and it just demolishes everything, but no one tests it because well...it demolishes everything. Is this what you're talking about? I need to seriously overclock just to not CPU bottleneck with it, even with an i7920 haha.
Needless to say I've never had any issues with SC2, well except for that time TME and I spawned 300 BC's in an RP game and made them fight... o_o;

Yes I am talking about the ATI HD 5970 OC but I hate how they are so little availablity with them. I just had to spend the $800 on the card I needed it for SC2.

the cycles for the i5/i7 are much more efficient or whatever...
These graphs are just slightly misleading, they are averages...
Yeah sure I get like ... 80++FPS or whatever with my i7 920 @ 2.6ghz + ATI 5770 during the start of the game.
But when I scroll, and depending what's happening (i.e. if mothership recalling or mass cloaking or craploads of Collusi) I can get some big frame dips from like 70-80FPs down to 30-40. Basically HALF the FPS, it's not that noticable but 40+80=120 / 2 = 60 FPS average.
60 FPS Average sounds like "Oh wow so it's always smooth!" well not really...
my box
i7 920 @ 2.67 ghz (stock) with XMP Memory profile on
6GB of DDR 1600 MHZ Triple channel ram
ATI 5770 1GB Video card
Win 7 Pro 64bit.
Dude...my box above cost me only like 1200$ Canadian in Jan 2010 .... I get a decent bottom line of 40-45 FPS , 90 FPS peak and 60 FPS Average.
You don't need a 800$ video card for SC2..............................My vid card cost me 179$USD..return that shit![]()

I never really get below 55 at 1920x1200 with my HD 5770. It sounds off but maybe your CPU is limiting you. That's the only explanation I see for the difference. My CPU is 3.46Ghz in dual core games.

Yes I do Tychus! I need another one to blast away sc2. And you know the 5970 comes with AA you just need to activate it, I think. Plus it's a brand new computer with a top of the line proceesor! So the only reason I lose now is my 1 Mb internet connection stop dropping me in game!

Thats not the price I paid for it thats the retail price. I paid $500 because I know someone. Plus I love my 83 FPS average in Starcraft 2 it killes my old one.

My HD 5770 plays StarCraft 2 at 1920x1200 with over 60 FPS unless there's huge UMS battles in which case it goes down to 30 or so. Unless 2xAA or 4xAA is worth 550$ to you, you do not need it for StarCraft 2.
