I never said I approved of other games doing these kinds of lies. Halo was subject to the same kind of deception and I think its a reprehensible advertising tactic all around. Promoting a game without showing actual gameplay disgusts me.
Yes it does. If thousands of people return the game because they were lied to in previews, its not just Blizzard's problem. Its more unneeded media nightmare to light the anti-video game fire. We ALL suffer from false advertising.

they have the website at the end of commercials and trailers for a reason. Very VERY few people just go and buy a game based on just a trailer and no research.
you play single player for the story

Everything disgusts you. You do nothing but assume the worst in every aspect of everything you see or read. What is wrong with you? Even if everything you said is true, being disgusted by marketing is an immature overreaction. They want to make money. You would do it you were them just like any of us would.
Why do you assume that the creators of the Halo trailers did so to deceive the audience into believing it was something else? It's much more logical to assume that they did it because it created more excitement. There's no way someone who's into gaming enough to buy the game would not know what Halo was about. Therefore, clearly, the targets of the commercials were those who were gamers and knew about Halo and, yet, the believed that such a commercial would be best to sell the product. It's simple presentation man. It's marketing. Gameplay is boring. Plain and simple. Like I said, there's many games that I love the gameplay of, however, when I see a trailer I do not want to see gameplay because gameplay needs to be played for it to be exciting. Cinematics, however, are exciting on their own.

I pity all of you for believing in and perpetuating this kind of trickery. Its clear you've all accepted that its OK to be lied to by manufactures. Enjoy your Sham-Wow's.

Your naive supposition that all game commercials show actual gameplay instead of cool cinematics aside, there's one other thing you've forgot: almost all the "cinematics" shown in this trailer are in game. You control Raynor in WoL, walk around like in an RPG, etc. etc, all at the same visual quality we see in that trailer. You picked a nice time to complain about this - when a singleplayer gameplay trailer came out. =/

I pity you for being a depressed angry anti-socialiteEverything you say is pessimistic, offensive, and anti-social. I honestly feel sorry for you.
But, again, we aren't being lied to. We're being given an actually exciting trailer that can hype us. Instead of boring gameplay. If they had issued a game play trailer you would complaining that it was boring or spoiled the story.
Nothing makes you happy.
