Yeah isn't that the big bad prison planet?
And im pretty sure a Worldship is actually a ship and not a planet.A really big ship of course, like bigger than a Mothership if not equal

I'd argue that they're unrealistic standards.
Hardly. That is the point of the game. A trailer is made to hype something.Seriously though, I'm sure you understand that the whole point of a trailer is immersion. It's NOT a movie, it's a TRAILER. This trailer was completely coherent. What, do you want them to give you the entire storyline in a trailer? Now what happens if the different parts of a movie aren't coherent? Well that immersion is gone.
Are you a mind reader? Do you somehow know exactly what I'll say in every conceivable situation?
If he had pointed out specific parts of the trailer that he didn't like and made a logical argument as to why he didn't like them I would have at least respected his opinion. Instead all he said was "OHHH MAHHH GOODD THAT IS SOOOOOO UGLY!!!" and acted as if the non-pre-rendered parts were the uglies video game graphics he had ever seen.

Definition of incoherent: without logical or meaningful connection; disjointed; rambling
The trailer looked and sounded completely coherent to me. I totally understood each scene to the next, whether it was pre rendered or not.
It seems like you're just picking on it because you expected a full pre rendered cinematic. To make that coherent, that would require them to make a completely new cinematic, otherwise potentially ruin plot, and at the least, leave less pre rendered for the actual game.
You realize big budget movies take all their scenes from the movie itself right? This is silly, StarCraft II has what, 20 minutes of pre rendered? How do you expect them to make another 30 second clip that isn't just a rehash of the last ad they did, without having to spend a long ass time making a new one, or taking away from the game?

Makes me wonder who was the 1st escapee from New Folsom. Anyone know what the UNN report head lines about the prison world in Ghosts of the Past's round 0:25? "Something something at New Folsom."

New Folsom looks butchered to the point that it requires beams to stand up against its own gravity. I'm guessing the Kel Morian combine had something to do with stripping it apart.
Aaand sold.
Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
The Forger's wake is bereft and fallow
Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?
The road's goal is the Origin of Being
But be wary through what thickets it winds.

My opinion is that then there is something wrong with you. You have exceedingly unrealistic expectations for this game, and by your own logic, it doesn't make much sense.
You compare the trailer to movie budget trailers, what are they anyway? They are mash ups of the footage from the movie. Starcraft 2 only has about 30 minutes of CGI with about 30 minutes of in game rendered CGI. There are already very little scenes you can pick from to make an explosive 3D trailer. Considering the fact that THIS IS AN REAL TIME STRATEGY GAME, the trailer being as 3D CGI as high quality as it is, is pretty amazing.
They've already done a fully rendered teaser trailer which was enough for the announcement (remember that it was pretty damn short) and it didn't tell a story at all. This trailer was cohesive, it introduced the major players of the game in very short scenes and served to create a lot of excitement for the game. This is probably the best game trailer I've ever seen and probably the best executed.
I don't know what your problem is but you've obviously got unrealistic expectations, you have no idea what a good trailer is and your standards are purely ego boosting (ie you have no real standards as this trailer does hit the specific areas perfectly)
Please show me another game trailer that surpasses this one. Where in under 2 minutes, you find out ALL the major and minor characters and the overall plot line. In under 2 minutes, we get the story that Raynor once loved Kerrigan, and that someone in charge betrayed her and that Raynor blames himself for her loss. We also find out that Raynor is leader of some sort of rebellion against a higher authority, seeking some sort of ancient quest with the help of an alien ally. We even get to see Raynors new love interest. This trailer introduces massive amounts of people into the world of Starcraft in a relatively short time. Like a summary of the game before you play it.
You want to make a better trailer than that? Do you even know how to make a trailer? To make the entire thing in CGI would've cost a year's worth of time, you think that's a good idea?
Blizzard is all about gameplay over graphics, in this case, content over graphics whore.
