    I couldn't agree more. It's to the point where it's almost unnecessary to have FMVs.

    @Hav0x: Where is that frame?

    On a side note, I hope they don't focus on Terran vs Zerg as much as this trailer suggests. I want some Xel'Naga and Protoss lore goodness. That's probably for the "mini-campaign" but I hope it's as fleshed out as the rest.

    It probably won't be getting too heavy into the Xel'Naga. That is more for the Zerg and Protoss campaigns.

    I'm not talking about heavy. I'm just talking about making the rest of the universe a focus. The Zerg vs Terran thing has been done in countless other games/books/movies as well as the original campaign. I was hoping all three races would be facing problem more epic this time around such as other Xel'Naga creations, Ulrezaj, or whatever. I just want them to expand the back story. I don't mean full-blown bringing in of the Xel'Naga and ruin the mystery that is why I love StarCraft so much.

    Unlikely. WOL, by nature of both being the first, and the only game that centers around Terrans, is going to be the most down-to-earth campaign.

    Think of the Xel'Naga as SC2's Emperor Palpatine. The first movie just mentions him super ominously, but as the series goes on, it becomes increasingly clear that he's in the middle of everything.

    Actually, I'm super glad they took this approach. As much as I like intergalactic conflicts and all that, sometimes you just want to get deeper -- as opposed to vaster. They're going all out on what being Terran's all about, and that's got very little to do with the Xel'Naga; whereas being Zerg and Protoss is ALL about Xel'Naga, so it makes perfect sense to delve into all that cosmic goodness later on.

    I have to agree with you completely. My favourite "emotional" scene was when Matt gave Jim his marshall badge... at that precise moment he turns the badge over to see it properly, you can see on Jim's face the memories of his past (young soldier of confederacy, tragic death of his son and wife, loosing Sarah, etc... - just to mention a few) and then i received this knid of "renewed faith feeling", the kind of "Now i remember what i am fighting for!" moment.

    Also i think Mr. Clotworthy's voice is Excellent! It literally blends with the character.

    I wish good luck to our beloved Freedom Fighter!

    p.s.: I think holywood should learn something from this... cause StarCraft is much much more than a video game, a SCI-FI masterpiece.
    Release so very close! Will be running to the game store like a madman on tuesday for my pre ordered copy.

    I know Terrans are the focus but I want to know more about the Hybrids, Xel'Naga and other plot threads that have been left hanging for the last twelve years.

    I agree with you on the vaster vs deeper but I'm tired of waiting to see what happens with the above so I hope they at least give me something to satisfy the hunger for the moment.

    Given that the game centers around Xel'Naga artifacts, I don't think I'll be disappointed. After all, these elements were hinted at in the intro cinematics and the gameplay demonstrations. I think this trailer is meant to hype those who don't know all of that much about the story so they didn't bring that stuff in hard.

    As for the Emperor Palpatine example, I like that. The mystery of the Xel'Naga is why I love them so much and is why I adore the lore so much. If it were not for that mystery I would not have nearly as much interest in the campaign. For this reason, I don't even know if Legacy of the Void is enough time to build up the Xel'Naga return.

    You have to start grounded, let players get a feel for the environment, setting and story, before going deeper into the mythos and more spectacular aspects of a story like this.
    Aaand sold.

    Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
    The Forger's wake is bereft and fallow

    Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
    Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?

    The road's goal is the Origin of Being
    But be wary through what thickets it winds.

    Well the Xel'Naga theme is too huge to be covered in the Terran campaign. But we will get the engines running, then the race will start with Heart of the Swarm.

    Me being an obsessed Rage Against The Machine fan, im so so so looking forward for some human REBELLION!!! GO RAYNOR GO!!!

    I was really impressed with the trailer. However, could have done w/o hearing "THE ANSWER LIES WITHIN" from zeratul.

    Why? He was talking about the little artifact thing he gave Raynor.
