Ice/Snow titleset?

Well we found a Xel'naga space platform screenshot, Looks like there's also the elusive ice titleset as well.


Looks pretty frozen-ish, we just don't see any snow.

Looking at the top right, it just seems to be Monlyth with some form of lighting.

That said, Niflheim is set to appear in SC2, including another frozen installation planet.

EDIT: They just confirmed there's no snow tileset for Wings of Liberty.

I had a feeling that was the case considering we haven't seen it except for an ugly screenshot in pre alpha. They're holding out on us for the expansion, they did that with TFT.

Knowing the capabilities of the map editor however, someone could probably get close to replicating a snow map, although when Blizzard actually comes out with it, they'll add more than a recolor of the other maps - like doodads, snow effects, pandabearguy, etc.

If he's right, we can ask someone from Deviant art to make us a snow texture set. All we need is to give them the details. I'm confident someone there will be kind enough to make one.

The problem comes with all the doodads and stuff, which will take some time to make.

edit: One other thing, custom tilesets will increase the map's file sizes. Which is not good, I think.

lol Im sorry I haven't played ROC in a while. A better example would be broodwar, they held back the desert tileset. Still, I think if we really want snow someone will make it happen in the editor. And the "snow" tileset I think was really twilight.

Well, this is what people thought was the snow tile set. It does look similar to that screenshot in the op's post but before all the art improvement.

Snow is the unofficial theme of all blizzard's expansions. Brood war, tft, wotlk for example. Besides, this only means there won't be any snow tilesets for the campaign. Once the game is released I can imagine editor assets skyrocketting, with the ums potential worth the cost of the game itself as standalone

RoC didn't just have one snow tileset, it had 2. :P Lordaeron Winter and Northrend.

Anyway, the braxis planet is apparently a different planet in the Braxis system.

we always seem to have a tradition to leave snow tileset for expansion. its the art panel video i think.
