The Devourer was very powerful in combination with Mutalisks. It could add like 9 points of damage to every attack done by any other unit.
The units introduced in BW were too powerful, and made the former light units obsolete in their presence.
Still, the Mothership is totally useless, and the Void Ray is really fishy. If you manage to get a charged ball of Void Rays, they can be unstoppable (which is wrong), but they take so much time to charge, and cost so much, than you're betting the whole game right there (which is wrong).

Oh, come on, don't bash the Corsair! That guy gets a workout when you look at the pros! imo, Valks were the worst, and will always will be.

this put a smile on my face
Phoenix use to be limited however it is now very useful, obviously it takes skill and you have to mass them accordingly to go up against say a muta force and whatnot. My only complaint would be to put back in the overload ability just to see how it would work out.

The corsair and the scourge were the 2 most used AtA units in SC1.
Corsair was fast, costed less than a scout in resources and food, and didn't require any upgrades to be useful.
The scourge was a cheap unit which owned the hell out of everything and was only 'balanced' because of its pathing issues that made it halt right before colliding into an air unit, which allowed mutalisks to combat them.

Guys, what would you use against flagships? Corsairs?? GG then. I'd go Scouts.
And Devourer is officially a support unit. You use 10 or so with Muta. Devourers slow down enemy fire and each Acid Spore adds one point of damage inflicted upon the target. So 9 Acid Spores make Mutas do not 9-3-1, but 18-12-10. Isn't that monstrous? And yeah, upgrade yer Muta.
Pandonetho, Scourge under control of pro-level gamer NEVER halts before colliding.
And Scout-stack if much more efficient at hunting Overlords. There was a match between Dimaga and Undine, where protoss used Scout stack quite well. The match was once broadcasted on our fansite.

And you guys underestimate Valkyries much. They own muta, they own... everything. I'd say it's the most powerful critical-mass unit after Carrier.
Good thing they don't shoot ground targets.

Against any competent Zerg player you’ll never reach the mass of Valks needed. As has already been stated, they’re pretty glitchly units, cost a hell of a lot, are very slow so are easily susceptible to scourge before you even reach that needed “mass”. If they took 3 scourge to kill, then they’d be worth it, but as it stands with just 2 scourge needed, they are just too much of risk. Generally a zerg would transition out of mutas anyway by the time you’ve got several Valks and you’ll be dealing with lurkers at your door without an adequate ground force to deal with it.And you guys underestimate Valkyries much. In clarification, what I thought was funny was the fact that the TC thought that Corsairs were not useful in SCBW. That is extraordinarily hilarious.
Rest In Peace, Old Friend.
