Ya but the whole it requires 2 much micro is kind of silly because a lot of players have the apm for it.

What? My clicks aren't the slowest but precision isn't the strongest of their virtues.

yeah persition seems like an issue with this; if you missclick adn target ground sintead of an enemy, , the VR's will stop fiering and start flying right into the enmy...

the waty around this would be to use the attack command: if you hit the ground sintead of a unit, it will just be an attack move. but thats even harder to do fast.

.. i wouldnt try this in a game where i have otehr shit to do, but those that can master it can surely make VR's horribly broken in situations where they'd otehrwise just be strong.

im talking about killing the first few AA units asap and combining this multi-targetting with the insane damage output that VR's have against ormored untis and sutructures when fully charged.
I am an enthusiast of good strategy games, sc2Esports and rollplay, although i dont really play anything atm.
I work an internship at a government agency this fall, and have a good time at it.

Lame. I do hope they fix this. It negates the unique aspect of these ships.

    O_O Really?
    How come?

Seriously, "fazing" is incredibly easy to fix. Just make VR not deliver the damage instantly.

I hope they don't fix this. More micro equals more fun!

You know, I'd be absolutely fine with this, except that Void Rays are already really powerful. And I agree with Blazur; Void rays already have a unique exploit, where they can charge without doing nearly any damage.

It reminds me of the Colossus original attack. Hmph. If only this were on a different unit...

    No fix = profit

The void ray is strong yes, but the "fazing" requires a LOT of micro to pull off. During which time, you cannot macro up or do any base-management. So there is a trade-off. No base management, whereas the opponent can have it. Also, an easy way to counter that is Missile turrets, cannons and spores, and good ol' scouting.

    Protoss needs this.

Why does Protoss need this? Void Rays are perfectly valid without instant attack changing. This simply makes them more potent, ESPECIALLY at the high levels of play, at which the game is balanced.

Everything you have mentioned is a counter to the Void Ray, not a counter to this particular "Fazing." How is scouting going to prevent a Void Ray from switching targets to do increased damage to multiple targets at the same time?

To claim that "Protoss needs this," and that the counters are Missile turrets, cannons and spore crawlers (which, by the way, you can still faze on buildings, so turrets as a counter is totally moot) is to claim that Void Rays are underpowered WITHOUT this micro. While you mention yourself that the Void Ray is "very strong."

Now, I truly like opportunities where expert micro can make units far more effective. But considering the ability to hold a charge by attacking your own Void Rays, microing them to do minimal friendly damage, Void Rays are becoming a unit whose value varies insanely with the effort put into microing them. If they are a unit that is balanced without this ability, then fazing will surely make them OP.
