Hey man, if you had posted "I don't care because I don't use the forums" there would be 50 000 people ready to slit your throat over it.I can't describe how much this whole ordeal has passed me by.

I'm personally dissappointed because I wanted to see this happen. I can say I'm very happy that blizzard listened to the people and that the majority got what they wanted.
I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

smart move by Blizzard. They get to keep all their fans for now.
If they deliver on the promise on chat, lan and cross region I think almost all of the fans will have their believe in Blizzard restored.
For now everyone against real names can celebrate this sweet victory.

What promise? I thought they said no LAN is final. Unless I missed something. If they deliver on the promise on chat, lan and cross region I think almost all of the fans will have their believe in Blizzard restored.

It's still going to happen, if the "it" you refer to is "eliminating trolls and flamers from the forums." They are still requiring that you use your battle.net ID and 3-digit identifier which implies that anyone who fucks up gets his account cancelled and therefore will have no access to battle.net or its forums. Smart move by Blizzard. and, I am happy they are going through with the post rating strategy as well.
If not, I don't really understand what your motive was for agreeing with Blizzard allowing people's real names to be exposed unchecked. What is your angle here?

It had to happen...Blizzard just could not have troubles like someone getting tracked down and attacked due to their system...and we all know it was due to happen at some point 'cause there always are crazies like that.

It was too much to hope we could begin to move the gaming community and cyberspace past being a cesspool of anonymous bigots, racists and vulgar children. Huzzah for the status quo. May no one ever force us out of our comfort zone.
