Thread: Performance has gone down the drain

Default Performance has gone down the drain

I am now playing with everything on low, even textures just so that I can get the game to run smoothly.

In Phase 1, I ran High textures, high models, ultra effects, ultra physics, high post processing, and medium scenery.

Anyone know what is causing this? I'm on a Mac OS X 10.6.4, apparently the latest service pack has driver issues?

I can't confirm it but I've seen some of the live cast that usually play on high settings now playing on low. I am guessing you're not the only one with this problem.

I don't think most of the settings are actually changing. When you go from medium to low you can REALLY TELL when you get to those low graphics. On my laptop I have to play with low and set it to that but it looked REALLY GOOD for low graphics. I think things that are supposed to be turning down... aren't.

I was about to say. I'm not higher in settings because I was already maxed but I get more FPS.

I think "low" settings were reduced even more though.
I always prefer to play on low since I feel it clutters less, and now my cristals look like bubble gum (or maybe I'm just hallucinating and have been watching too many streams on ultra).

I've experienced the same, but after a few games, it became smoother. It's like a miracle shampoo.

Im running everything on high still and...it's still running smooth actually i think it might be smoother for me.

All this talk of smoothness is... smooth.

Oddly enough, I think it's poor programming. In a few games, the framerate on my mac is RIDICULOUS. Like absolutely smooth, fully awesome. However, exiting the game, the menu is stuttery, and the game after that is just unplayable.

Guess I'll just watch the commentary for now, it's a bit too "unfun" to play at this slow stage.
