I wouldn't do the same thing if I were you. I suspect Spychi isn't using his minerals effectively. There's no such thing as an "excess" of minerals when you can make barracks, marines, hellions etc...
Dropping a supply depot (+100minerals) is inferior to using a mule (+270minerals) and just building a supply in the early-mid game.
Scans are great of course, but you need to use that spell only when you absolutely need to, because it costs a bunch (indirectly). Of course, if you want to detect a tech pattern or something, go ahead, it's a great spell, but make sure you have your timings (and your opponent's) down before you start incorporating scans into your build.
I don't mean to derail the thread, but I think you're mistaken Spychi, and I wouldn't suggest doing the same.

I am spamming Marines mostly or give minerals to a toss team-player so that my gathering is not being wasted
I focus on getting nukes early, mass marines, upgrade them and later on I tech with diffrent variants of units
Mules are the most in-effective units in the game, I don't find them resourceful, I only used them twice and both times I regreted my decision

Well I think you could probably jump at least a league if you started using mules instead of supply drop, and used factory units more. Ghosts are good, but unless you're fighting a 1gate into fast robo immo/collo, you're definitely better off getting a factory before the nuke silo. And any excess minerals can ALWAYS be put into barracks (no addons) and marines. You usually won't have the space to make 12 in your base, but you can make them anywhere on the map.

1 Mule normally gathers 240 or 270 minerals during those 90 seconds.
It's really depending, as a terran you need those minerals to expand, you don't really build an army with it with exception to hellions and mass marines, also marauders doesn't really cost alot of gas.
*I didn't mean you need mules, but you need minerals to expand, I acaully also use calldown alot with terrans. I know that the minerals will be depleted, and if I use mules they will be depleted faster, just that I get the earlier. I save buildtime if I use calldown, I also save 100 minerals per supply (well you could say I lose 150 minerals doing this) But as spychi said I don't really need those minerals, except for expands.

I don't get your logic. You say you run out of supply quickly, and that you have 3SCVs per mineral.
1) you should be expanding with that many SCVs
2) obviously, mules aren't affected by mining saturation, the only question here is whether the player is capable of investing his ressources
3) you're being lazy and not making your supply depots with SCVs... "running out of supply quickly" doesn't make sense. You can just plan in advance and build accordingly
4) you get your OC when you have 30 SCVs? come on...
Basically, when you say that mules are useless and are a waste of time, I think there is something very wrong with your gameplay.
If you're talking about 2v2, expand timings are different, but that still doesn't mean you shouldn't be using mules. Slowing down your econ so that your main base's minerals last longer is insane, and will lose you a bunch of games.
Also, if you're talking about 2v2, plat in an arranged team isn't so awesome since you're playing against random teams as well. Even in diamond you'll be playing against chubs who are semi-afk often times... I hope this changes in retail.
If you've got a decent rank in plat 1v1 and aren't using mules, then you could just bump up to diamond in my opinion.
I couldn't live without mules, and I only scan if my life depends on it.

it's recommended by pro's that you keep 3 or 2 scvs per mineral
also I usually expand
i don't find anything wrong with my gameplay, when I switched to Terrans I found their economy very teamsupport-like friendly with a protoss teammate
