Thread: EMP uncloaks DTs?

My real problem is the vulnerability of the detection. Sure, Overseers have 200 health, but if I send them in against an enemy force, they can easily be focused down by Stalkers or void rays, forcing you to morph multiple overseers and take them into battle with you. Yes, perhaps the overseer has some good spells on it. None that you'll get to use if they have to hang around your base, your expansion, or your army all the time.

The spells an Overseer has do not help it's abilities as a detector, or help its survivability. They are mostly, if not entirely irrelevant to the balance of detection.

I would say that was exactly the point. There wasn't really a way to counter Zerg detection in SC1 unless you used corsairs and by the time the Zerg has Hydras, the Corsairs would be easy to take care of. Zerg detection was too easy, now they made it counterable. The same line of thought was used in medic>medivac. Making healing more easily counterable.

lol now electromagnetic devices can disable cloaking too, that's interesting. Perhaps it disrupts a DT's concentration?

DT's cloak by bending light around their bodies. Being that visible light is basically just a specific electromagnetic wavelength, it would make sense that an EMP would temporarily disrupt cloaking fields.

    people use mule? lol

Terran economy depnds on gas and you should use SCV's to gather gas, I see no use for mules right now
I switched to Terrans and instead of mules I use scan and additional supply drop

Yes, they though that it wasn't OP enough without it.

MULEs are essential for Terran in the early to mid-game stages. Without it, both Zerg and Protoss, using their macro mechanics, will overtake Terran in their economy with more probes/drones. Watch a replay of yours vs a Protoss or Zerg with which you had a close game and observe the Income tab: You're looking at your minerals per min as the harvester counts increase. You will see, esp when you're getting that Orb Command that you're behind by 200-300 mins/min. You need to use that 50 energy one a MULE to catch up.

I completly disagree, as a Terran I have alot of minerals in the early game, more than I would have if I would play the Protoss

Mmm. If you don't mind, can you post a replay of 1 of your games, plz? I want to check it out because, based on all the replays and videos I have watched I never found Terran to be in excess of minerals if they were doing everything right.

    Thanks in advance spychi.
