Twilight is a story about angsty teen vampires and werewolves, and the confused and stereotypical "damsel in distress" stuck in a love triangle between them. It's written by a Mormon who is using it in a thinly veiled attempt to foist her religious beliefs on weak minded young people as well as middle aged bored housewives.
I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

*Stands and starts a one-man applause.*
Aaand sold.
Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
The Forger's wake is bereft and fallow
Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?
The road's goal is the Origin of Being
But be wary through what thickets it winds.

To be fair, hating Twilight is as large, and as silly a phenomena as Twilight itself, as far as I'm concerned. I went out of my way to read and watch the first book/movie so I could at least have some credibility on it. I think it's just very, very demographic specific, aimed at teenage girls, everyone else just get's caught in the crossfire. There are literally chapters describing just how sexy Edward is. It's an awkward read for a guy. It's better than average in terms of a story about abstinence though, the vampires make it entertaining, on a simple story level. The suck blood, or not to suck metaphor is a handy sex analogy, which it clearly is, more so in the book than in the movie. That being said I really don't like it (definitely wouldn't read more than 1 book between college classes), but at the very least I think it's fairly well written, and respectable for a teenage romance, I just think teenage romances are terrible as a rule. That includes Romeo and Juliet.
/ontopic-By far the best vuvuzela usage I've seen. Epic execution on that prank.
