    True.

Q2: If Q1 is true, have the previous Blizzard titles continued to play on Bnet 1 or have they been moved to Bnet 2.0 already?
Older games will not make the switch, with the exception of World of Warcraft, which has already made the switch. Diablo III will use Bnet 2.

Q3: Pursuant to Q2, if the older titles are still on Bnet 1, I can then place my vote. However, if the previous titles have been playable on Bnet 2.0 and Bnet 1 was taken offline, wouldn't we have to then consider Bnet 2.0 as having already been released, relieving this poll of its purpose?
Older games remain on Bnet 1. World of Warcraft was never on Bnet 1 though, but was moved to Bnet 2.

I'm pretty sure I remember Chris Sigaty saying they might move Diablo 2, WarCraft 3, and StarCraft over to Battle.net 2.0 but it was a very low priority. Diablo and WarCraft 2 had no chance though

He did mention it in a video interview. It's very low priority but its something they wanted to do.

I would release it because all the core features needed to play the actual game are there. Such as the match making system, profiles, friends list and custom game lobbies. Sure there are adjustments and additional features they could add to make it better but already has a solid foundation. The release of the game has been a long time coming and I think it would be worse to delay it even further or not release Battle.net 2.0 on release of the game.

I assume you meant he did

I wonder if this would help with hacks. I also wonder if they would bring some of Battle.net 2.0's features to StarCraft: Brood War.

Quite, thank you. I tried to make my questions general, but also as well formed as possible, in the hopes that someone knowledgeable in this would help me out. In the end, some shading toward you was inevitable.

I remembered reading something to the effect that the older titles would remain on Bnet 1 for some time, if not permanently, as subsequent posters have also mentioned. I was curious more than confused, I should admit.

Given the current state of Bnet 2, it is probably not ready for the traffic of all the blizz titles just yet. Based on my discussion of the basics, so far as what I need in Bnet 2, I can safely say yes it is releasable.

Just for the proverbial "shits and giggles" of it, I am going to rephrase and correct my first question as a statement of thought/observation that we may consider as we continue to discuss bnet 2: As some were conducting the SC2 beta testing, they were also testing Bnet 2, as it were. Given the disparate nature of the beast, saying Bnet 2 is in its own beta is a loose usage of the term at best because of the constant state of evolution. Thus we can assume any such Internet community is either in a constant beta state or release state or both, rendering my use of the term beta in reference to Bnet 2 inappropriate, but not wholly incorrect. It would be more appropriate to say such communities as bnet 2 are released in phases, with individual testing/monitoring sub-phases for each level of improvement. Thus the SC2 beta was the phase 1 monitoring and testing sub-phase of Bnet 2. Phase 1 is releasable given the understanding that future phases are in the works.
