Thread: Hellions the new Vulture?

It actually is different in PvT. When I played protoss against terran I hardly ever saw hellions at the mid game. If most people were doing the 1/1/1 build they were just using their extra minerals on marines instead of going pure mech. While hellions do not seem to have the same utility as Vultures w/ spider mines do, they definitely will start seeing more play time in the future just because of how well they destroy workers and all light units.
I realize that I change my signature often. All I can say to that is: SO??? HAI FIVE!! (*・∀・)/♡\(・∀・*)

If you like anyone's post, be sure to give them additional rep.

I don't know about TvP, but from personal experience, I think that they see plenty of action in TvZ! I wish they'd see LESS use!

Well that would just not be fun at all. They add so much to the game and keep Zerg on their toes. They suck on creep though against speedlings.

Spidermines were a big thing in SC BW but I am glad they are not in SC2 it adds so much more interesting positional play and less turtling slow push terrans.

I believe they have a lot of potential against Protoss, countering Zealots and sniping HTs. I have not tried this, and I will as soon as the beta is up again.

    PS:
The name "Hellions the new Vulture" is misleading.
I, personally, think that the Hellion is a high-mobility Firebat.
I second that, the Vulture was basically a defensive unit with their mines, the Hellion is really a better Firebat.

I dont know about you but when i ZvT they always use Hellions against my slings, so I feel that they are used enough and it is very annoying haha!

Hellions slaughter Zealots, Sentries, and Probes. Marauders crunch Stalkers. I always feel like I need to tech higher to fight T and it blows.

    Colossi My Brother, Colossi.

Terran's woe is encompassed by that unit ! Get enough of them to supplement your army and you're good to go. Also, on one of Day9's recent dailies, I think it was one of the 140-143 ones, Day9 shows us how Kiwikakki just does this super fast zealot/templar combo and then does a huge tech switch to 4 robo colossus. Terran (who was qxc) was completely decimated. Kiwikakki had 9 colossi by the end, and qxc had gone heavy tank/marine/ghost/raven. The tech addition was sooo sudden that qxc had nothing to react to it, and Kiwikakki capitalized. You might wanna check it out.

Hellions are too easily countered. They are weak. Mutalisks trash them, easily. Roaches trash them. Queens are not bad against them. Spine crawlers kill them. Hydralisks kill them.
    Wow.
Basically, they are only good against massed zerglings.

I saw it. I count Colossi as "teching higher."
