"Yes, yes! I can smell the return on investment already! 2$ Day passes for StarCraft 2. Monetized LAN. Next, StarCraft LAND IN KOREA!! YESSSS!!!!!!!"
"Guys, don't worry. We've listened to the community and we're putting the comments into consideration. But I'm with Bobby on this one, I want my own StarCraft jet"
I am not surprised at this. Acti Blizz's actions on SC2 have been strictly motivated from DRM and monetization. That 2$ pass is hilarious, it's basically 100% revenue. You know the return on a game is less than 5$ USD on launch? This doesn't apply to AAA Titles because they make break-even in a day (Modern Warfare 2). So can you imagine people on an international flight in Korea? Pay 2$ and you get StarCraft access. LMAO.
But you know what, this will continue on and simply get "Worse". There is a market for 25$ WoW mounts, there is a market for 15$ Map Packs, there is a market for 2$ day passes on SC2. Get over it guys. Yes LAN is still gone but essentially nothing has changed, and this is exclusive to Korea.
This might look like 'pure evil' in some people's eyes, but offering different price points in a different economic setting is a no brainer. I'm sure there are some broke ass students in Korea who cannot muster 70$USD to pay for a freaking video game. Even if they pulled this in America...the majority of us would simply buy the 59$ Copy....End of Story.
P.S. Archer of Aiur, are you trying to get a job with Fox News? You have very misleading thread titles, sometimes they are 'true' (And only in the up most literal sense) but you sure do take the Fox News spin on everything. LAN is hardly 100% confirmed, it's only on Televised SC2 tournaments. That isn't the traditional method of LAN. Most people's conceptions of LAN is that they can sit down together and play a LAN game. This is more like an extreme exception. But don't worry, we all know your posts are "Fair and Balanced".
