Stuff like this drives me absolutely nuts. This "LAN edition" is 100 % because of the community bitching. You think they had this planned? Hell no. Now, I'm going to get to read posts like this all the time, because for some reason people can't just be happy. Ever. EVERRRRRRRRRR AHHHHHHHHHHHHH

While I also believe that a lot of people just bitch because they are cosmically inclined to do so, I don't think that the 'LAN edition' is entirely a response to community complaining because the vast majority of the people who complain won't get to enjoy this edition, since it's apparently for televised Korean tournaments only.

not only that but also the fact that you need to pay for it...

    oh c'mon Sahara
if Blizzard is planning on controling the StarCraft 2 eSports market fine - it's their game, but if they are trying to make more money on things that should be for free, than no
if you are ok with paying 60$ for a game, then paying from 2$ to X$ for simple features that should be comming with the content of the game, fine it's your choice, I will rather think for my wallet

I don't live in Korea or Mexico. As far as I've seen, I don't have to pay anything additionally beyond buying the game itself. I also think LAN is only appropriate for major televised tournaments, and unecessary elsewhere.

Indeed, so far I haven't had a problem with delays. I was really suprised specially when you compare to wc3 and sometimes on starcraft 1.

The title should be changed. It gets people's hopes up unnecessarily.

"Lan 100% Confirmed" kinda makes you think "sweeeeet!!!!" ----- And then you get kicked in the nuts with this professional edition shit.

Its a game first and foremost! Why do they have to go suck out the fun out and spew it all on those pro-gamers?

Ive never been genuinely pissed off at this lack of LAN functionality. I've always thought its something i'm just gonna have to live without. But the thought that some people are gonna experience it, while I who shall pay for a Limited Edition copy wont, makes me hate Blizzard more than any other game maker right now.

Think about it guys, we are all gonna give revenue to Blizzard, and they are pampering only those 500 APM guys. I want some LAN too!

Any way you look at it, a LAN game is fun. Give us fun Blizzard. Give us fun.

Play Protoss? Look for the map Photon Cannon Tactics in the NA server!

They are giving different pricing models that fit that market. People in S Korea dont usually have their own PC, they go to a PC cafe to play games. This means that a 2$ daily pass can make sense for those that wont or cant play it very often. $10 monthly also makes sense, hell I bet some american kids would love that option so that they could play the hell out of it during summer vacation then focus on school the rest. Keeping in mind that there is also still the usual full retail priced copy available as well.

Or are you talking about other things that MIGHT cost money but havent been announced or even really discussed yet? If that is the case, continue to think with your wallet but realize that as of now there is only the game and no other extra purchases required.

Seriously though spychi, why are your posts so unreasonably negative ALL the time?

    I am curious about something:

Is it said anywhere that LAN is only for Korean competitive SC, or is this planned for pro-gamers in NA (like Nony) and EU (like Whitera & TLO) as well?

I am actually happy in a way that this feature is being added for competitive SC; I just want to know if it is going to be available in all professional versions around the world, not just the Korean client.

Can you give me a shred of evidence that this is at all realistic? Any extra purchases for any game from Blizzard are purely cosmetic and have no impact on any form of gameplay. Even then, these purchases have stayed with WoW (and again, are purely cosmetic and not in any way necessary to play the game to its fullest).

I think its just for televised tournaments, which basically means s korea. Blizzard doesnt want their lan version to get out I assume, so they will probably keep it very selective on who gets it. Though, if some foreign scene does crop up I imagine they would expand the lan to the new foreign scene.
