The reason I actually don't want LAN is because I don't need, it, it brings no benefit for me. What it does bring, however, is a higher risk of pirates playing SCII multiplayer, which I don't want.

Hm. Then maybe donating organs is pointless. Or treatment if you're stupid enough to ruin your own organs through excessive smoking or excessive drinking. Because if you're one of those people stupid enough to damage your own body and then expect treatment for it, you don't deserve to live. Or perhaps people born with certain diseases of problems shouldn't be saved.Survival of the fit. You are a biological machine put here to struggle and evolve so that you can either thrive or die. We, as members of this system, are sympathetic to our own plight so we seek to deny this simple truth by interfering with the system. It is no longer thrive or die; it is thrive or live in subsistence. In America, there's no excuse for being poor or lower-class. Your wealth is limited only by your ambition and intelligence. The poor are poor for a reason. I have no sympathy for them.
Or how about racism? Who cares about that! All that matters is the survival of everyone's respective 'race'. Minorities are each part of a different race despite the fact that they have the same number of lungs, the same organs, etc.
(All that was sarcasm for people who may not have noticed it.)
As my professor said, "Race is a social construct."
When I was attending two courses in college, one of the courses I took dealt with the issues and problems that come from technology. In one of the many lessons about the different stages of society, we were discussing the fact that, according to many studies, things like depression and social anxiety and a lot of the mental illnesses we have today don't exist in those types of cultures. The way our society is has brought about depression, bi-polar disorder, personality disorders, etc. I'm not saying that some of these didn't exist in other, less advanced cultures but that most of them didn't.
Apparently ambition and intelligence, according to you, makes people far superior. I don't deny that this is a game of survival of the fittest but I also realize that these so called 'geniuses' are pretty stupid in their own right. More often than not, you hear scientists and organizations stating that they haven't studied the effects or consequences and/or that they don't know what long term effects it has. Or I hear about how something society has been using for a while for a long time and have only recently discovered its negative effects. Take fluorescent light bulbs. Or how about the non-stick frying pans or the plastic bottles just to name a few.
Or how about doctors, who claim to know what is best for us, keep prescribing the same antibiotics and then now-a-days, they are saying things like, "Oh, no... We need to start using or finding a different type of antibiotics before these strains become complete resistant to what we currently have." It took them that long to figure out something that should be obvious? Anyone know about MRSA (also known as MERSA)? I do. It exists because they kept using the same antiobitics to treat 'Staff/Staph'. It was so bad that shows like Dr. Oz, and Oprah had a big special on it. Mind you, it's mostly a problem in the US.
Oh, but where did you go common sense!
I've heard people say that black people are better at physical sports/activities where as white people (and Asians) are more intelligent. Does that mean I should spend the rest of my life doing labor because that's apparently what I was biologically designed for? And you say that I'm going to find joy in it? I have proven people wrong about that, as have countless other people.Joy is brought through participating in the system that you are biological designed to perform best under and find fulfillment in.
When I went to school some jackass of a teacher actually told me that I should be in the applied class because I wasn't smart enough. In that same school, someone from Guidance dropped my entire semester of courses without my permission. I asked them why and they explained that they didn't think I was smart enough and they knew what was best for me. A few other teachers actually told me that because I had below average marks. I didn't have those marks not because I couldn't do the courses or because I was stupid but because a) I wasn't motivated, b) wasn't interested and c) was too tired. I was attending Air Cadets four days a week from 5 PM to 10 PM and I got home around 11 PM. I was in the band, on the rifle team (or the range team as it is sometimes called) and was invited into the Flag Party, which is the highest honor you can get within your own squadron. I got 100% on every test and 110% on the exam. Hell, I was the only one in my class that knew about the Arrow. In the first year, I received every award you could possibly get: Top Level 1 Cadet, Band Member With the Distinction (which is the absolute best award you can get for band), as well as Top Flight. But I was refused a promotion because they awarded it to someone else. Why? Because he was related to one of the officers. Did he get it because he was a better Cadet? No. He was average. I had several officers who were disgusted and who had highly recommended me. Even the Cadets who were teaching . You know what they said when I wanted to quit due to a lack of respect? "Don't leave. We need you - you're the best Cadet we have. Please, just take some time off to think about this." I told them to f' off. And when one of my classmates was still in that squadron, she constantly told me how they kept comparing Cadets to me and how even instructors from the summer courses (we call them camps) were talking about how wonderful a Cadet I am.
Does that mean that, despite my accomplishments, that I shouldn't bother because people who are more experienced and/or are my seniors say that I'm not biologically albeit in different words? Am I still p
I do have some level of drive and ambition. I took eight courses without [/I][/B] lessons or explanations or help from a teacher - not many people can brag about that. For those of you who may not believe me, it's a program called ILC or "Independent Learning Courses/Center.
And what about those people who were excellent at something but no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't get the job they wanted, one in which they were incredibly skilled at?
In short, it's not just drive or ambition, it's also luck and contacts. Sometimes, just having the right contact(s) is enough to almost guarantee you a promotion or get you the job you want. Or being born in the right area at the right time. Or even just being in the right place. It is also about stereotypes as well.
You see it in the work place where the boss's favourite gets the promotion over the person who is not only much better than him/her but has what is needed to succeed and even excel. Around here, you see it when immigrants get a job because they apparently need the job even when the person is applying is far more skilled than they are (happened to a family member many times). Or when the rich person gets the job even though they shouldn't have even been considered (ialso happened). There are countless other examples but those are just a few. Or how about when people, especially in racist areas, refuse to give someone a chance or out right judge them due to stereotypes?
Or how about those people who have or will settle for being financially comfortable? Does that mean they never had the drive or ambition to succeed?
Perhaps. Perhaps not. Rich people are not superior to me in every way. I have a better immune system than practically everyone around me. I have never been sick. Never even had so much as the common cold even though I have a tendency to run around in the summer wearing clothes that should be worn in the winter and vice versa. I've been in places with highly contagious viruses and never even became slightly sick. My family doesn't have a history of, say, any type of cancer. I learn quickly. I am one of the few people out of everyone I know that has common sense. I'm 'wise beyond my years' as many of the adults in my life say. I may not have the vocabulary of a genius or the knowledge of someone who is knowledgeable in things like science, law or math etc. I'm in better physical shape than a lot of people despite the fact that I don't exercise - I've outlasted men on the football and basketball teams in an endurance test despite that fact out of all the classes in my grade and even several people above mine. I have a way with people in distress be it depression or a lack of self esteem. And those are just some of the good qualities about me.They are, in every sense of the word, inferior to those who are in a better situation.
So are rich people still superior to me in every way just because I'm poor?
Look at all these 'superior people' at the top who are destroying are environment despite frequent and increasingly more urgent warnings. Oh, they are definitely ensuring survival of the species.
As for you, I commend you for your drive but don't think that the everyone who is poor is inferior to everyone above them. I am poor and although I have not had it as bad as you, I have had to deal with tons of racism and prejudice and people's stupid opinions about black people. Worst off, unlike places in the South, it wasn't open. It was hidden. There were times where the law had failed me and almost cost the lives of people I hold dear. I've been harassed, stalked and nearly 'beaten to a pulp' by a bunch of Neo-Nazis. I could have become racist against 'white' people. I could have turned to drugs or something else. But I didn't even though others might have done so. I may not be a 'book-smart' genius but I am highly intelligent. I am also street smart. I have common sense - something that isn't common anymore. So just because I'm not in university or have the same vocabulary as other, 'smarter' people doesn't mean that I'm stupid or inferior.
So please don't lump me in with everyone else of my income bracket and say that I am inferior to rich people in every way or that I deserve what I was born into when you know nothing about me or what I've had to endure.
On-Topic:
Since I never really used LAN and everyone I play with lives in another country or province, I honestly don't care about LAN not just because I've never really used it but because there is no need for me to do so.

because nowadays everything can get pirated and no matter how much stricted security Battle.net 0.2 will have, it will get cracked in a month
because there are people which will pirate it for few reasons: lack of features in it - not worth money, for being just dumb ass pirates or they just can't afford it

Right, fine, but without LAN the multiplayer will be very difficult to pirate, especially with features like achievements, friends list, ladders, etc.. That's whyI don't want LAN.
As for the "No American has any reason to be poor" comment earlier...this is clearly an uninformed statement from someone who has little to zero knowledge of how life works, so will not be validated with a response from me.

The less you give people, the more they want it. And that does not equal a greater chance to buy.

let me think... hmm oh wait Xbox as a whole network and a console got pirated... and it has achivements, friends list, ladders and much more
it isn't bout lan itself for me personally, it's becuase I want the game to have features the game had in 1999 without the need for paying for it extra or not having them at all
again it's about money and what is right and right now Blizzard acts like a Tyrant which only thinks what is good for them
