    Default Blizzard's 2010 Writing Contest

For any fellow fan-fic writers out there...Blizz is giving away a chance to meet the team in CA.

All you gotta do is write a really awesome short story using the SC, WC or Diablo universe as your setting.

    Deadline is August 23, 2010!

Do we have examples of last year's winners' entries?
    Aaand sold.

Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
The Forger's wake is bereft and fallow

    Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?

The road's goal is the Origin of Being
But be wary through what thickets it winds.

I believe both the mothership and the baneling short stories are part of the winning entries from last year.

I think entering would be a good try...I mean, you just need to compete against a couple of tens of thousands but if you are great writing you may be a runner up

They included excerpts...but not full stories of the runners' up.

I already have an idea in mind for a story concerning the prisoner crew of the Nagglfar and the early trials they faced establishing the beginnings of what would eventually become the Confederacy.

I do awesome fanfics for Final Fantasy, so I'd love to center this but I lack a good idea.
    SC2 handle - "DrakeyC, code 929"

I ARE A PROPHET! I've predicted three major aspects of SC2 correct, more or less.

June 2007 - I predicted the Protoss campaign would give you new tech as you conducted diplomacy among tribes.

    Hidden Content:
July 18th 2010 - I predicted Raynor would broadcast information of Mengsk's actions on Tarsonis to discredit him and incite rebellion.

    Hidden Content:
June 16th 2010 I predicted the Voice in the Darkness was the commanding force behind the Hybrids. I'm calling it half-right.

Very close to what I am writing about... very!

Scientists measure a second as the duration of 9,192,631,770 periods
of the radiation corresponding to the transition between the two hyperfine
levels of the ground state of the caesium 133 atom.
Or the duration of 9,192,631,770 matches where David Kim crushes you head to head in StarCraft 2

Such unexplored territory. I'm surprised Blizz hasn't had someone flesh out the back story of the Confederacy yet. It would make a great novel.

You know things didn't go smoothly for those poor saps the first few years. I imagine a lot of intrigue, double crossing, murder, and all-out firefights.

Why? They're on a completely new and foreign planet and they needed to work together to survive. You know, the UPL didn't only imprison murderers. Anyone who had a genetic mutation, or pirates, hackers, etc they were all imprisoned too.
