Just curious, did Blizz ever say they would do seperate rankings for each race you place?

I think they will do this at the more advanced ladder information like they did with wc3 (on battle.nets internet side). They told us they were going to do it atleast....

I would love to have a ranking for each race. It would be usefull because maybe you suck at playing zerg, and would be playing in bronze with zerg, but is a platuim terran player.

Aha, that way could also be pretty good. But I wonder how it will work out. I could imagine you were top diamond with protoss and then you start to play zerg which you never tried before and you don't really know what to do in a specific situation but you know ofcourse the all the basics (or you wouldn't be in diamond)

Yes, but you can still suck even if you know all the basics. Its a new race, and there is new units. You don't know what unit combos work against what unit combos. Good players know good strategies, the basics and the right unit combos for countering.

Thats what I meant, you don't know what to do at specific situations (and as a total new race every situation is a new situation) but you should know what you usually do when countering the new races units and what units the new race counter your "old" race. It's like me when I started playing, I watched alot of replays before and I knew hellions where good as harrasers and vs light units. That doesn't mean I use them a good way.
What I meant is that you should still have the knowledge of the new race, but because you got no actaull experience in using that knowledge you will fail totally.

I have had an issue with this system for the past year...
My year old topic.

Hehe, it's funny how there were so many issues with Bnet that I had totally forgotten about this idea. Indeed, every so often I get an urge to play terran, and I'd love to be able to do that on the ladder without damaging my regular rank.

It is important to note that this is not about ego. I honestly do not care what league I am in as long as I am facing opponents of equal skill level and having fun.
The current system will not allow that to happen for me with all three races. I think most players have a big skill difference between their best and worst race. I really don't want to suffer through dozens and dozens of brutal losses that will not improve my play until I get demoted and find equally skilled opponents for my off-race.
