Thread: Warpgate rally point question

No... it is you who are mistaken my friend.

The a-move doesn't exist for units who are in the process of being warped in. If you press a + left click on ground, nothing happens. You can only right click on ground to have them move, manually. And that is basically move without attacking, not like rallying.

If you right click an enemy unit though, then your unit being warped in attacks the said enemy unit (individually).

The shift is redundant. You can just hold down S & click click click.

Holding down shift lets you skip the wait time on your key repeat setting, and it feels better/more smooth for me anyway. Good point though, I do forget that key repeats count in SC2.

The only ability that is available to a unit warping in is a rally point (if you select the unit). It does not attack-move or move. The confusion between them is purely because of semantics (and possibly because move and rally are both right-click commands). They move, therefore move can be used (using a dictionary definition). They attack anything they encounter while moving, so attack-move can also be used. The simple fact is, it is a rally point.

TRD, they don't attack-move once warped-in. They only perform the Move command from the warp-in "rally". Just a minor point

All offensive units that are created and have a rally point only highlight the Move command, but they will still attack enemies they see along the way. Perhaps it should be changed to the attack-move highlighted for clarification though.

Umm... My units that are rallied from being warped-in never attack unless I use a followup Attack-move command. They only move from point A to point B. The rally point in this specific situation only works as a Move command. From regular production rallies apart from WG, the rally point works as Attack-Move, not for WG, though from my personal experience.

That is strange, the rally command is listed just like any other. If they arent attacking then it must be a bug, either a tooltip bug (if they are supposed to just move) or a command bug.

    I know that.

It's an A-move. Go try it out. I have, and I am sure I am right.

This is the only ability that any unit warping in has. Plain and simple. Screenshot is there for proof. If they dont attack, then it is a bug either in the tooltip of the rally command for warped in units or a bug in rally points in general. The functions of the rally point should produce the same effect as an attack move, but it is technically not an attack move.

This is exactly what I was saying.

I have tried, and they indeed attack stuff after the rally command, and there is no bug (at least, I have yet to see evidence of bug thus far).

I agree "technically" it is not attack-move, and I didn't point that out earlier because I care little for technicalities.
