Well, the main reason why Zergs do a Baneling Bust is because they might feel a certain map is disadvantageous to them .

Without being able to safely take a second expansion on Kulas Ravine, many Zerg just go: "screw it, I'm gonna Baneling Bust!"

The point of the bust is to kill your walled-off Terran opponent before they achieve whatever evil scheme they were planning. Sitting at one base vs one base as a Zerg player isn't good for you, and sadly, Nydus Worms take a little too long to get to :[.
