Hm, diggit numbers. What do they change apart from the second identifier? I liked Twilice.Vortex and will problary like it more then Twilice.666 (oh, wait)
But we will se how it works out, I hope it will be definitly better then before where we had no identifier at all.

So I see the OP has been updated. I concede my previous complaints. I thoroughly like this system better than anything they've had before.

Chat will still come months after the game is released, there is still no cross-region play, still no LAN, still restrictive map publishing features, still no better way of going through custom games and replays, still worst way to add friends, still low level of privacy and still no clans.
I'm not satisfied and until all our demands are met, than I'm boycotting all Blizzard games and everyone dissatisfied should also!

They are adding cross-region play (though it might cost a bit extra money, but it wont be the full price) and there is potentially tournament LAN. Map publishing limitations may be beta only (havent seen any comments on it). Adding friends isnt so bad with the identifier system coming back (though its questionable on if the old 2 name system is better or not). Clans will be in possibly with the same or near the same time as chat.
Basically the only thing they arent working on is better custom maps/replays.
My only concern is that chat isnt in for release

SlickR is right. If you are truly cut to the quick by blizzards blatant disregard for it's fans don't buy the game. Stand for something important! Make a difference in the world!
Or you can join the other, way bigger group of people who
A) Want more out of Battle.net but will wait patiently for them to implement it
B) Are actually pretty happy now
C) Are pissed off by all the empty promises of Battle.net but know that not buying Starcraft 2 is only really hurting ourself.
Keep complaining about what you don't like, but for goodness sake all this boycott talk is worn out. If all of you folks who can't just quietly not buy something ever really do get together and boycott something effectively, without just lying about it like the L4D2 or MW2 group, I think the world might end.
I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

@Slickr: Why would I boycott a great game.... thats just stupid.....
And it's not going downhill as I can se, it's only going up and more up.

Well, since the numbers won't actually show up on your character name, it sounds alright to me! I just hope that they keep it inconspicuous on your profile.
