Dunno if it was mentioned (and no offense) but on a side note it is funny how the US Army, undoubtbly the most powerful force in the history of man, has its ranks filled up with any kind of people except American. Look up for a list of Army members of any unit and at least half of them are of Latin origin or foreign.

If you look through my previous post, you can see that they don't need to go beyond their backyard. While China still has imperialistic intentions left (Taiwan, South China Sea, Arunachal Pradesh), they have no reason to taking over say, Europe, the US, or any other place. They're right now quite successful playing the Globalism game. So, the only conflict the US would run into China with would be in their backyard, and that's where they've built their military around.

Nuclear missiles are futile against China. Even with them, you'll still run into MAD (mutual assured destruction).

You just reminded me of the predator and reaper drones. Someone suggested we deploy those on the southern border...for recon of course. I remember seeing on a show in the History Channel (cant remember the name but I remember the man, gunney I think) about a small robot on treads with a camera and rifle attached to it and how it was remote controlled, interesting indeed.

Yeah, but they invested more into their railroad silos than they did into their submarines, largely due to their lack of a reliable warm-water port. By the late 70s, that decision was catching up to them.

There's no known limit to AI technology yet, but we're definitely nowhere near the point where an autonomous targeting method is more effective than a human pilot. Today's UAVs and UCAVs are directly remotely controlled via a human operator. I do not foresee technology to allow for fully autonomous drones in the next 50 years. And while remotely controlling it seems to be the future, there's a large possibility of electronic jamming or disruption to a remote signal.

So until we can get autonomous drones that do match humans, we still need human aircraft pilots for a while.

You cannot prevent anyone from getting nuclear power. Anyone that has nuclear reactors could potentially develop a nuclear weapon. You would see they're doing tests, but then it means they already have something that can be detonated.

Anyways, who would decide who can have nuclear weapons and who cannot? Why someone could have nuclear weapons and not another nation?

What's needed is a serious international organization where every nation has the same decision power. So, if any country goes around doing nasty shit, it has to suffer the consequences.

As it stands now, the world is just a disorganized group of nations and groups of power that follow their own interests. No wonder shit happends sometimes.
