People that argue against chat channels (or in Blizzard's favor of removing them on the basis of spam) are so irritating.
Look, if chat channels are there, fine. They are there for the people that want them. If you can't stand spam/clans/bots/etc, then DON'T USE THEM. It's that fucking simple. I'm so tired of the other side of the argument being this "I don't want chat channels because I just don't like them..". Excuse me, but wtf? If my memory serves correctly (which it does), there is no mandatory button to press when you join Battle.net on WC3 that forces you into chat channels. As a matter a fact, if you really hate them that much, you could just sit at the first screen that comes up after logging in. Or you can just opt to chill in the void, which is exactly what its like in SC2 in its current state.
I personally just find the arguments against the regular chat channels fall short of really providing much of a solid foundation for their removal. Spam is not a good enough one, and the other reasons Blizzard has given fall short as well. Overall, the removal of chat channels is the dumbest fucking thing they have done with SC2 to date.
I might sound pissed off in my post, well, that is the case because I've kept my anger bottled about this whole situation for awhile. And given the fact Blizzard has yet to properly address the concern in a public statement only furthers my rage.
P.S. Blizzard stating they will include some sort of chat features in a later patch basically means it will never happen. Once you have bought the game, they are NOT going to honor some promise they made to gullible fans prior to the release of their game. They honor the dollar now, not your opinions.
