Thread: Unfair advantage?

I really like that there is no cliff jumper for Zerg, and that Protoss and Terran's are so different. It takes so much more work to make a good RTS game that's balanced when you have diversity of units and abilities.

What would be the point of having 3 different races if they were all the same and each one had to have the same abilities as the other 2 to make it fair?

The zerg do have a cliffwalker. A bunch of them actually.

From a gameplay perspetive, the so-called cliff walk is just the middle-ground between a true air unit and a plain ground unit.

It's hardly as unique as the OP believes.

Speedlings on creep eat reapers for breakfast. If their are 10 col at your main then... Have you ever heard the expression, "oh dear someone left protoss alone" yeh well that is kind of what would have happened.

To bad the mutalisk is worthless for anything other than harassment, corruptors overseers and overlords can't attack ground, and the brood lord comes out so late in the game that their block off shouldn't matter anymore anyways.

you're doing it wrong, micro them. You can take out a lot of bio units with a little bit of micro.

On the topic of cliff jumping,

Too bad the reaper is worthless for anything other than harassment ...

And Mutalisk are not. Mutalisks own Vikings in an air to air fight. Mutalisk are good fire support when you got a ground force that counters the enemy's AA.

Actually, if you think about it, reapers are awesome harassment units in lategame. You can really hurt a player using fully upped reapers who can run around the map and snipe probes or even whole expos if the main army of the opponent is out of position completely.

The econ damage you do in late game is more effective in a sense since at that stage, every unit lost starts to count and depending on the timing of the reaper harassment, you can easily cripple the income and subsequently macro of a player, then use a huge push to duke it out and replenish your army much faster than his and ...
