Hi there ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls.
With all the Bnet 2.0(aka 0.5) talk and disagreement going on, have you lost your respect and/or confidence in Blizzard?

yeeah... another thread.
hey SlickR? You're not SlickR from projectoffset.com are you?
EDIT: Also I haven't lost respect for blizzard. To many people on the internet are drama queen nerds. They are doing fine and will address any concerns we have.

I've lost a certain amount of respect for Blizzard back when they've recast Kerrigan. But then, their artistic integrity generally suffers from a "we're an American Game Company that makes PRODUCTS" mindset. And some other things they've done weren't all that bright either (BattleNet 2.0 being the most recent).
That said, I still have great admiration and respect towards them. They are to gaming what Shakespeare is to literature.![]()

they've said they have something in the works to adress the concerns that have been expressed so loudly & broadly lately. so im waiting to see / hear what it is before i pass any judgement.
I am an enthusiast of good strategy games, sc2Esports and rollplay, although i dont really play anything atm.
I work an internship at a government agency this fall, and have a good time at it.
I'm being more social, active and honest lately. in all forums.
Hi.

Not really, it's closer to McDonalds than Shakespeare. Blizzard puts out very safe, very polished products. They also rely on their name to sell a great number of copies. If any other company put out WC3, that game would have flopped hard. The same with WoW, if it was made by any other developer, it would be a semi-successful MMORPG that would have been dead within a few years.
I've lost a great deal of respect for Blizzard because it's clear they are no longer a "gamer's" company. They sort of respect the community, but it's clear money > common sense right now. It's all about monetizing features of Bnet (tourney support, esports, etc etc) instead of building a community. Plus, they have the gall to say what we want instead of listening to the community. "Do you really want chat channels?"

As others have stated...I'm going to reserve passing judgment on Blizzard until SCII is released. I want to experience the whole game and not just a portion of the Multilayer beta before expressing my feelings concerning Blizz.
But, at this point, I'm still very much a happy Blizzard customer.

So McDonald's food is "safe" and "polished"? Blizzard doesn't make particularly innovative games (unless it's the story-telling area we're talking about), but they sure do make games that represent the best of their genre and with a unique touch that no other company can reproduce. Shakespeare wasn't telling especially "new" tales either, it was the way he told them that made them great ("originality vs. quality of execution", much like Blizzard). And besides, he was quite popular in his day (so much as to be recognised by the king himself and make a very decent living out of it).![]()

Not necessarily lost respect but some what agitated with how they are handling some aspects of Bnet 2.0. The chat channels needs to happen. The Campaign better so F'ing awesomely great that it out sells MW2 buy a billion $. Blizzard is part of Activision though and you can definitely tell that kotick is seeping in.
