Superior capability in language does not necessarily equate to superior intelligence...but it certainly doesn't help your argument if you sound stupid.

I'd take a guess that a mutalisk is approximately 5-6 meters long. Big, but not enormous. It could fit inside a building, if cramped, and could launch a half or full meter long glaive wurm.

Agreed that their size may vary, but I don't think it will be a great variation
Sadly we only have game mechanics sizes, so I wonder if there's the remote possibility of asking Blizzard to give SD the permission to include SC1 units, or maybe create their own scaled sizes chart.
maybe slightly larger: 7 to 12 meters?
Unlike the in game sprites, which seem to be just three times larger,
in SC1 game videos Battlecruisers and carriers seem to be flying fortress, compared to wraiths scouts and mutalisks which seem to have similar sizes.
How big is big? I can imagine that Battlecruisers and carriers are 350 to 500 meters flying fortress and the wraiths and scouts range from 12 to 21 meters like a normal jet fighter (the f14 tomcat for example, I think it's 18 meters long) and mutalisks are somewhat smaller: 7 to 12 meters,
that's why I think we must ask Blizzard for a chart of sizes. Or just to give Starship Dimensions
the permission to include SC1 units, which (I think) is not a bad idea...

Are the dimensions of any of the units specified in the books or manuals?
The only terran unit whose size I'm sure about is the Goliath, being about five meters in height. This comes from a canon image of the gollie set against a backdrop of a green grid, each square being either a foot or a meter squared. Another image depicts a goliath facing off against a Zealot, which appeared only a couple meters smaller. Finally, the SC cinematic The Ambush depicts a gollie in the distance, which appears fairly small, around fifteen feet.

Y'know, I think Wraiths are somewhat bigger than our modern day jet fighters (if you compare the size of the cockpit to the rest of the Wraith and take into account the fact that the cockpit itself is rather spacious, having to accommodate all the facilities necessary for prolonged space flights, they turn out to be at least twice as big as an F 14). Mutalisks in general can match Wraiths size for size (and even Scourges don't seem to be much smaller).

In the Downing of Norad II, Scourge were depicted as immense flying bombs. The one that crippled the cruiser was a significant size of the hammer-head forward hull.

Which I think pretty much means we can throw out any Blizzard cinematics as far as scale reference goes...
Seriously, I think we can safely state that we know BCs are huge, able to carry troops and dropships and probably squadrons of Wraiths. It's also safe to say that Scourge are smaller than Mutalisks. If you take these things in combination with the various screenshots and cinematics...it is just inconsistent.

IIRC, the manual stated that scourge could cripple enemy fighter squadrons. This would imply that they are comparable to wraiths in size, but doesn't necessarily preclude larger varieties of scourge, like the one seen in the cinematic.Besides, where exactly was it explicitly stated that Scourge are small?
