Anyone want to take a guess as to a mutalisk's size?

I was talking with a friend the other day, and I said, "mutalisks could probably fly by bunkers and fire their glaive wurms through the firing slots, it would wreck massive havoc within."

Then he said, "I don't think so."

He thinks the mutalisk glaive wurms are most likely half a meter to a meter long/wide/large, and come to think of it I agree with him on that. Since anything smaller probably wouldn't affect marines too much. That lead us to conclude that mutalisks are pretty large.

What do you guys think?

Yeah I think Mutalisks are probably smaller than a Wraith but not really by much. It's hard to say because even in cutscene videos scale is kind of hard to judge. I'll do some looking at the various videos and post back with some more details.

Short answer, I think 2-3 feet for a Glaive Wurm is probably pretty reasonable.

Edit: well, I went back and took a look at various cutscene videos. It all depends on how big you think BCs and Carriers are, basically, since these always dwarf mutas. For instance in the final cutscene with the Gantrithor mutalisks are flying around inside of it.

The other point is if you think Guardians and Mutalisks are similarly sized, then Mutalisks are pretty small. Guardians generally appear about the size of a car.

In the cutscenes, mutalisks used acid sprays. (The change to glaive wurms was a last minute change, after the cutscenes were made.)

I say it would be a little smaller. Infested Ethan from Shadow Hunters did ride on top of a mutalisk, not it actually tells its size but helps me imagine the zerg.
