So far I've conducted two tournaments with two different formats, one being scheduled at a set time and the other being flexible giving players more time and the freedom to set their own times. Both have had their own strengths and weaknesses.

Both tournaments have had prize money with the second receiving an additional $100+ USD from the community which has been fantastic to see.

I would like to run some more in the future and I would appreciate some feedback from everyone so I can continue to make future tournaments even better.

Letting the players choose the time, ie having like 2-3 days to play the match, is ideal on paper, but it leads to people thinking they have more time and they end up not getting it done.. while a fixed time, altho a pain, is pretty clear how it works. Maybe try letting players make their own time once more, but last tourney it was pretty bad =[

About the money, I believe it has its advantages and disadvatages; but eventually you can't ask for a lot of cash.

Advantages:
-Larger Price Pools
-Higher competition
-Stronger Players
-Players won't skip the tournament

Disadvantages:
-Harder to manage (paypal, mails, etc)
-More "rage" among players
-Some good players might back down due to the fee
-Cheating
