Is that not a relevant reason for caution?
That and their numerous, "paid services," spawned from WoW, becoming an increasingly slippery slope.

It's a relevant reason, but it's not a huge deal. I agree with the paid services though, not because they are paid, but because there are so many that could be merged into one service. And they should be cheaper.
The reason I'm so optimistic though, is because I remember the early-days Steam very well. And look how it turned out. Now people love Steam. It's extremely popular. While in the months after release it was utterly hated.

Can't wait to hear what Archer has to say about this.
I really need to change this...

What can he say? It's not revealing any changes yet. We can only hope.

Forgot to throw in my two cents. What this post says is basically what I've been saying all along. Blizzard always listens to their fans and when they get things wrong the first time they'll usually fix it up given time. If they do address these issues the fans have been raising then SC2 will truly be a worthy successor to the original. The game I believe already is, but Battle.net 2.0 still needs a bit more work and functionallity before it deserves "2.0" IMO.
I've also been constantly reminding people that this is a beta test and not to get so emotional. Blizzard have seen the feedback, responded, and the game still isn't released. Good work to Blizzard and the community in general.

Most Blizzard games have been delayed after a release date was set so I don't think they will be afraid to push SC2 back if they realize the criticism against Battlet 2.0 is valid enough to warrant it getting fixed before release.

Huh, I wonder if the problems they intend to address will be addressed and hopefully fixed after the b.net downtime for the month.

I really don't think anything is going to be "fixed". Most likely the response will be a well thought out PR spin explaining why they've done things the way they have. I'm not a conspiracy theorist on spychys level but this is not blizzard circa 1998, nor is this the industry climate of that time.
I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.
