    Default Baneling Rush too powerful?

Hey Everyone. I just discovered recently that Baneling rushes against any race is very effective. I always open with 13 pool against terran and protoss. 10 pool against zerg, 14 extractor or 12 extractor against zerg, and then spend my first 50 gas on a baneling nest and morph in at least 4 banelings before i push. I find this allows me to kill any walling supply depot with 4 blings and kill a pylon in 5 blings. I always mass a bunch of lings when pushing and has literally almost always succeeded for me. Once a zerg player went roach by accident (had no idea of my bling nest) and countered my early rush. What are your guys thoughts about this build? I can literally finish a game within 6 minutes with this build. 10 win streak so far after trying this

not very effective on diamond. The answer is in your building placement
Hey guys I want you all to know that my team is playing/did great this weekend so I am going to go ahead and make it my status because I know you all care and want to know my opinion on it.

Hmm really? I guess if a terran walled with double depots or with addons, it would probably be much less effective. Though banelings are very cheap, and I can get 4 or 5 out in no time. You sure building placement is everything? I haven't really seen anyone try this so I haven't really seen it fought off

And using stalker heavy armies (with blink later on) !

Stalkers kite lings amazingly if you only have 2-3 zeals helping out. AND, stalkers take very little damage from Banelings. Also, Immortals are great tanks for banelings. If I see banelings I tend to chrono an Immortal and get more stalkers than zeals with just enough zeals (behind stalkers) to hold up lings while Stalkers and Immortal and the occasional sentry or 2 deal all the damage. Also, if you DID get mass sentry zealots, just use FF as a shield if on open ground.

Banelings are only really powerful if you aren't prepared for it. But that's the same for any unit...

though what i do, is build 5 blings, bomb the walling pylon, and charge in a mass of lings... I find that very effective against early game units. And don't forget, i can do all this within the 6 minute mark... Late game I literally forget about blings unless there is mass ling or marines.

Within 6 mins, if your Protoss opponent does not have at least 2 sentries and a few zeals, then he sucks bad, Im afraid... And once you see that, switching to pure stalker for a bit and move out on the blings to tank their damage just nullifies the effect, and then have 2-3 sentries you can FF lings and kill quite a few. As I said, you aren't prepped for it, it's an auto-lose, but if the player scouts it and responds accordingly, there is no way baneling busts work into an auto-win.

If you think it's a solid strategy, abuse it! I see banelings as a way to punish wall-in's, especially in 2v2's.

Hmm, i guess i just haven't really seen many games where banelings are used. I am learning myself and trying to improve my play. I just found this a very effective method of harass. I guess it is just like a banshee or void ray rush? If you don't scout and get ready for it, you will lose?
I play in platinum and apparently, nobody there i have played has beaten this build

You have to remember that near the start of the beta the baneling rush was much more popular. Things got switched around and so people didn't find it very effective anymore. Since it's so rare, people are easily caught off guard.
