Very awesome post and compilation of some of the shadier things Activision Blizzard has done in the last few years. What are your thoughts on some of it?

Personally, I'm unsure right now whether or not Blizzard has truly been ' totally corrupted,' but I think they may have been influenced by Activision.

7 years ago? How about we just include beta because that's when they've been active. What are the other 5?
    -Online Replays
    -Battlenet Interface
    -Custom games
    -Privacy concerns
    -Email/facebook required for friends

The email/facebook friends thing has been confirmed to be a temporary thing.

Has it? I think this is a good of example of people hearing what they want to hear from Blizzard. Go back and look at the quote.

Definitely, the Activion thing has something to do with the total control over the game that they want. Awful. But with money dances the bunny.

Kotick is a fine example of the corporate business world and how they operate. With men like him running multi billion dollar companies I'm not surprised the economy is in a slump.

I really am not liking the look of games in the near future. Especially those made/published by Activision. This quote baffles me as to how people still support this company.

Most of the 20 years, that I have provided for growth at Activision, we were content to make products that are attractive to the 16-35 year old guy who has gotten no date for Saturday night.
“don’t have the potential to be exploited every year on every platform with clear sequel potential and have the potential to become $100 million franchises.”
I really never followed this stuff that much, but this Kotick guy is by far the fastest I have ever wholeheartedly decided to hate a person without ever meeting them.

Behold greed. Without any doubt, the sin that has caused more trouble in the history of humanity.

As long as Blizzard continues to make good games, people will buy them, but if nasty unfair things begin to happend, i'm pretty sure that would backfire badly on them. Let's see what happends.

Where is it? IIRC, they basically said that it's required now because they want people to test it out and just because it's required doesn't mean it will be in the future. Either way, it doesn't matter. Get enough public outcry and Blizzard will give in. This isn't something that Blizzard needs to feel conflicted about because changing it back to the old way doesn't cut into their profits at all. So, if they find that after a sufficient amount of time the community desires the old method then it will be done.

Apply that Blizzfilter we've all developed so extremely well and you can see why I'm not at all worried. They're testing to make sure it works and see how the people feel about it. Obviously, they're going to hear the complaints and do something about it. Don't get worked up over nothing There's enough things in this world that will actually happen that should be worried about.
