Thread: GomTV gains full rights for Blizzard games

It is strange — they say they promote online community by removing LAN, and yet they won't allow easy-access cross-realm play.

    Talk about mixed signals . . .

yet more reasons to boycott the production
seriously Blizzard if you want to make money on your productions don't remove key feature all games have or I will make an boycott team and spread those really interesting news most of the average gamers don't know about
it really starts to pist me off how you people there can do whatever you want to kill offline games
and to those who made those decisions, go buy a brain cell or two I am feed up with bullshit and until you people won't remove the region lock from the game and add those most needed I am not buying it
it's official: -1 client and more to come

Not buying it for over the bnet issue is understandable and commendable. It is the last true way to show Blizzard how much you disapprove. But what about the campaign? The Galaxy Editor?

I'm not happy with bnet in its current form...but that is not going to stop me from forking over the cash for the other, better implemented portions of the game.

EDIT: Mods, better delete mine too. My thread has has his quote in it.

There are more than just profit motives that helped these decisions. When you look at the design theory in planning, the benefits of this direction in 10-15 years is very positive overall. Ultimately though, it's over and done with really, discussing that further won't get us farther right now.

And now that Blizzard will have more control, they will be able to set better terms with the entire community and combat piracy. It puts Blizzard in a position of power over their own properties and gives them exclusive authority. Its a Win Win for them and a Lose Win for us.

Forget about LAN. We should be thankful they haven't decided to charge for regular access to the multiplayer component of bnet.
Very well said IMHO. I quoted it as I felt it a worthwhile post.

Just to clarify, there are many parts of the game that will be enabled in an offline (play as guest) mode if the service is offline. This is different than Assassin's Creed. Nothing is confirmed regarding Custom Games though (Or maybe, I don't know) so don't think I'm disagreeing with that idea, just wanted to clarify for those members who might not know about this feature.

for any one curious why blizzard wont allow cross realm play, one word

    Microtransactions

It currently costs $20 to transfer realms in WOW. Certainly cheaper than buying another copy of the game dontchathink?
While I can agree that your speculation of microtransactions could be part of the decision (not the entire reason), It's important to note that if you already have an account, creating a character on other realms is free. The way you stated it, you made it sound like the game is much less restricted than it truly is. You are allowed to make 50 characters with a 10 character limitation on a realm on any of the realms overall. Deleting and remaking on a new realm is allowed. If you have a character that you want to move or edit in specific ways, you have to pay for the service. I would say that over 90% of the people I know who played the game haven't paid for a single feature of that kind and played the game with a very satisfactory expirience. No need to buy extra games... no need to pay for those microtransactions.

N00b, I will say this... I completely agree with this statement. While I personally have said ideas on how to allow at least cross realm communication (even if they can't play with each other) I didn't think this split realm situation really fit into the "design scope" they originally set out for.

The question is... will it still be that way when they enable "cross server" communication? There is a chance you can communicate with friends on other servers in that way.

I said it previously, as much as I want to play the singleplayer campaign I don't want to get raped in the ass for buying just half of the overpriced product while the other half is completly broken
I don't know what they meant by saying that bn2.0 will be awesome but that is just hypocrisy
they want to be community friendly, but what they do right now is just "fuck the fans we want money"

every week we are closer to the release I want it to be delayed or completly scrapped, if they don't know how to do it and they are "pro-developers" as people describe them they shouldn't even announce it

what the hell they did with the game...it's beyond me
even AvP 2010 turns out look better than SC2
I hate them really much for completly destroying my vision about this sequel

we also don't have specific rules, my signature wasn't against them yet I was banned, next time you want to ban me make a rule for it, for example: we ban spychi - no exceptions
simple eh? if you guys want to stick with the rules fine as long as you have them somewhere ....if you don't have them it's just simple censorship and overmodding
I hate dragging the thread off topic more than it has to, but I feel this must be addressed for everyone's benefit. Forum rules and posting guidelines as well as a guide to infractions are clearly laid out in the forum FAQ: http://sclegacy.com/forums/faq.php?f...ulesguidelines

I would go further to say that when one receives an infraction it is best to just learn from the warning and move on. I can totally understand someone saying "I didn't know that would give me an infraction". That's why you have to get 10 points to get banned. It's also why points eventually expire. By the time you get to 10 points I don't think there's really any excuse anymore. At this point you clearly understand the rules and how they are applied, but simply refuse to follow them.

Censorship? Really? You think we have nothing to do? As if we haven't allowed enough threads complaining about Blizzard? If this was a site that had censorship, then Wankey wouldn't have made like four threads already complaining about the sound every week. I think everybody here knows you can say whatever you want as long as you don't attack anybody.

What's so hard to understand about your ban? We have a rule that people must be shown respect, and you insisted on libeling and insulting a public figure, coupled with death threats. As for DS's ban, it had nothing to do with censorship - his last infraction was for insulting somebody. Once again, you really need to mind your own business, and let the mods/admins answer questions that are addressed towards them. I don't appreciate you speaking for the moderators as if you have a clue what's going on.

I can see it comming but as I like the free word policy in my life I won't give up just like that, I might do some slight changes in the wa I express myself but the main point will remain
and I did it with that signature, I removed the picture of Kotick with a pointer at his forehead but I stated my opinion in a diffrent way

I have rules of my own and I always stick to them
@Gradius I am speaking always for myself
DS agred with me that some people don't have the right sense of humor these days
and you allow those threads to be for like a day until someone noticed it

oh and Kotick isn't from Blizzard so I can swear at him throw threats and whatever else cause he is not from Blizzard
what always bugs me off is that people agree with me on such points but they always are silence about it or they like to express it in a polite way and they don't like to throw heavy words on subjects that pist them off which causes an... like Kotick to feel invincble, I find it really amusing as gamers act like sheep, they will do whatever they are told to do, they are not individual and they don't like to get their heads out of the box

if you feel if it is, if you did anything like that after that last incident than I guess it is... if no, than it's being adressed at other people who lack of auto-irony and sense of humor
if people act like assholes who can do whatever that want to do, they shouldn't be treated in a no better way that is why I do those rants lately

oh and I know why DS was banned he told me that earlier today
