Odd Game

I had a rather bizarre game. It was ZvP, but the guy was clearly new because he was building very slowly, had few probes, and didn't know what "hf" meant. What I found really off-putting was our conversation during the game. Name concealed for privacy. I floated my Overlord over to his base (was "Steppes")

****: "Whoa, what's with the Overlord?"
Me: "What do you mean?"
****: "What's it doing in my base?"
Me: "Spying on you for me."
****: "That's cheating!"

I then said "don't act dumb" but now feel bad for it because...well yeah, guy was noob so much I felt bad for him. But at the time, someone saying that the Overlord spy was cheating...very odd thing to hear.

This is a game of STRATEGY like chess! How is it fair when you can see what your opponents next moves are going to be?! Only the dirtiest of players try to scout their opponents.

Ahem...yeah, I've drifted back here with SC2 coming out soon and my Beta invite. Plus I can size up all the new staff members who have popped up in my wake. . Anyway, I'll stop now before this turns into a spam topic.

As a zerg player myself, I do have to say that scouting with your overlord is pretty cheap. I also hate when zerg players attack, harrass, or build structures. BM Drake, bm.

Best quote ever. Just saying. For real though, the only thing my overlords ever see is the immediate reflexive sprint to photon cannons to chase him off. Most Terran and Zerg have marines/queen by the time he gets there unless the bases are close, Scrap Station for example. It's been my experience that OV scout leads to more static defenses on their end, but I suck at Starcraft soits probably just me.
