They should reintroduce depleted geysers. They made the late game so much more dynamic.

Since we are in the beta, I would like to see how depleted geysers would affect the game. I think doing 1 gas per trip from each geyser would be interesting.

If the entire map is mined out before an hour (usually around 40 minutes) then neither of you must be doing much macro.

How about "Deep Geysers" that give 2 gas after depletion? These could be placed at strategic locations to encourage dynamic late game battles.

Or they could simply implement the high yield geysers within the map editor.

Of course, those geysers don't really stand out very well. They need to alter the model.

Like, just add a few more holes in the geyser. That should suffice.

IMHO High Yield Geysers offer almost same gameplay mechanics as High Yield Minerals. They dont bring anything extra to the table.

Geysers with Depleted mechanics, however, would add an interesting long term planning aspect to gameplay. Depleted gas also makes end game unit ratios dynamic as minerals become more important and gas less.

I too would love to see how depleted geysers would affect game play.

Imagine the game choices for how to take expansions. Do you want to secure the gold expansion for immediate mineral benefit or the deplete geysers for long term gas advantage?

To address main concern: Each map has a crap load of expansions, some of them are remote - so getting your natural may not be an issue. I think depleted geysers are not an answer. You can barely get enough gas from 4 geysers to produce a Carrier/Cruiser fleet, having your 4 geysers produce as much as two won't solve things. It forces games to end fast and destroy redundant turtle strategies (Which are a paradox, because turtling enables your opponent to take over the entire map and out live/produce you)

I think it adds strategy to the game. So I don't go around spamming tanks and letting them die, etc =P

Heavy gas units seem very valuable due to this, which is why I go mass Ravens in FFA.
I just spam the turrets and run back to regen my energy haha.. renewable units/dmg FTW!

I think it's fine, you just need to gather your gas quickly and focus on what your game strategy is. Going mass tanks, why make armories (Early anyways) ?
But it does kill or make some gas heavy strats sort of like "Exhibition" stuff. Like Thor-drops... two thors + two drop ships = 700 Gas.
