Okay, here's another rendition of the Xel'naga. This takes a little more creative license, but it's interesting: it seems all the sculptures are presenting creatures almost identical to a quetzalcoatl, which I've illustrated here.



EDIT

You'll notice that some of the sculptures have chests that project outward. This is indicative that they support muscle mass for large limbs on the back, most likely wings. Hmm... I should have changed their positioning...
