    Default Control grouping

Ive been seeing a lot of high level players hotkey all there units to one hotkey lets say 1 and just hot key there special units like ghost too 2. I wondering if there is a way to just move one type of unit from that one hotkey without moving everyone else.

eg. Lets say you have vikings marines marauders and banshees hotkeyed to 1 hotkey. Is there a way to move just the vikings around without double clicking them and without moving the rest of your units?

Ive seen that every time i try to just moving them it moves the whole group. Is there a button i have to press to just move them? or do i either have to separate them to another hotkey or double click them?

Would love it if you guys could give me some info about this because it would reduce the number of hotkeys and make everything else run more smoothly for me. (could be using the hotkeys for somthing else)
    Thanks

shift+control removes 1 type of units from a group, shift+click selects that one type of units in a group. Shift+number adds the units selected to the units already grouped in a hotkey.

Shift is the key to remove units from groups, Ctrl is the key to select all identical units. Thus, Ctrl+Click over a unit type selects all the units of that kind (you can do that over the units, or in the interface. If you do it over the units, only visible units are affected). Shift+Click on unit removes that unit, and Shift+Ctrl+Click removes all units of that type.

I'm pretty new to playing RTS games competitively and I'm trying to learn to use hotkeys more. I have a question regarding control groups in this regard, what would be the best way to group my units and production buildings? Should I for example, put all my barracks on one key and my factories on another? Should I have a control group for each type or unit or have it mixed?

How do you alternate between the "numbers" in a group when you have more than 24 in a group? Is it even possible?

tab to the units you want, hold control, then issue command. it's called sub group modifier.

Well, I don't play T much, but when I played I arrange my hotkeys as following:
    1 Marines/Marauders
    2 Ghosts
    3 Medivacs
    4 Other units
    5 Other units
    6 Orbital Command
    7-0 Production and Research Buildings

I only put one "caster" per hotkey to be able to use the abilities quickly.
