Yes, they could. But what would they do about the Thor special and Thor mini pet? They wouldn't be "Thor" anymore. If they made Thor look wildly different from what it is, they would have to change those two as well. I doubt they will remodel the special edition and WoW pet at this stage.

The WoW Pet even has animations made already.

They could easily remodel most of the units if they wanted to (hi, Carrier), but they don't want to and they likely won't (bye, Carrier). The Thor may see a small touch-up to go with its size reduction, but I kind of doubt it.

The fact they even MADE a WoW model out of the Thor is every indication that they intend to keep the Thor's model. How much more proof would you need?

It totally escapes me how the worst designed unit artistically of any game becomes the icon.

Blizzard is trying too hard with this unit, oh hey look it's really big and really powerful so it must be really cool!! right?

I like the Thor 2 ! Or atleast I liked it .... the best part of the thor was his size ! Now it`s just a goliath with a little more bulkness ... SC2 is beginnig to look a lot like SC1 - don`t like this - thors are beckoming goliaths, roaches - 2 supplay now and next thing you know it shoots air and we have a hydralisk again ...

Edit ... the 2 supplay for roach feels like a necessary change tho ... so many many many roaches when they were 1 supplay o.O unburrow under my tanks ...

Have you even looked at the WoW thor, I don't think it matters if they do some small polishes here and there. Were not talking about a whole new unit here are we? Just some small changes. But usually those small changes are the important ones.

I don't see why they wouldn't be able to change the model. Ofc. it's true that Blizz has decided to make it the Terran iconic companion, but with these almost absurd changes (what's the point of a huge and bulky mech if they make it small and sleek?) I don't see how they wouldn't consider re-thinking and re-modeling it anymore. If they can re-model the SC2 model, they can surely re-model the wow and special looking SC2 one... How could that be impossible in any way?
Only reason not to re-model would be a compromise due to time and money being a factor, so that's also why I myself, just believe they'll change it back to the pre patch 12 size, since a small thor is just too absurd (who wants 50 million different mechs, like in Empire Earth?!?!).

But I hope they'll really rethink and remodel it into a coole BULKY and HUGE Thor, that's Heavy Metal!!!
