    Reaper
    HP: 50
    Mins: 50
    Gas: 50
    Supply: 1
    Time: 20
    P-38 "Scythe" Gauss Pistols: (4 x 2) + 5 vs light
    D-8 Charges: 30

Problem: Too strong early game, too weak late game.

Solution: Decrease early game damage, increase late game damage with upgrade.

    Wow. That was so easy.

If you know an enemy is reaper rushing, then marauders are in fact the solution.

Marauders and reapers come at the same time, so... a marauder will easily stop it.

Although, in my recent games I've been going 8 rax reaper and owning every Toss player I've come across.

Well, Mauraders might not be good if the other guy is doing this...but the player getting cheezed needs to keep an eye on his own base to make sure things like this don't happen. Kill that SCV before he plants a bunker.

What's the time frame a reaper arrives at your base? And what's the production capacity a reaper rusher gets himself into?

I mean, what does a reaper rusher base looks like at 5:00?

I'm not sure about the exact timing but when I've 8 rax reaper rushed (only in 2v2 matches though) my base is generally devoid of all buildings (I'm too busying microing).

When the Protoss player is dead I just expand, and the only thing in my base is a refinery and 2 supply depots.

Interesting. If you don't mind: Gna.Reffotsirk

Reaper rush me on Steppes of War. I wan't to see how this works really and maybe we could find something weak in this strat to exploit.

I'll use terran for this matter.

Sure, we'll try it the next time I'm on. I'm not sure how fast you can get stalkers, but getting them asap is usually the solution IMO (if you know a reaper rush is imminent).

No, their sole purpose is to harass.

Solution: Decrease early game damage, increase late game damage with upgrade.

It doesn't matter how much damage they do. Their role is intrinsically unsuitable for lategame dps.

If reapers ever became worth getting for their DPS, that would mean massing reapers as a significant portion of your army composition would be viable.. Massing reapers cannot be viable because they are a 1 food unit that deals 35 damage to buildings and jumps over cliffs. That is too much mobility for a unit that is also meant to stand alone in its dps merit. Moreover, in order to be usable lategame, you would have to double their damage because their hp and range is just so goddam low they would get one shotted by any aoe what so ever.

In order to make reapers a viable lategame/midgame unit you literally would have to make them a)Not be good against buildings and b)Not jump over cliffs with ease. aka not be reapers, but be stalkers.

Yeah, that's the thing. What are the tell-tale signs of a terran who's opting for a reaper rush? Early refinery?

    edit: nvm, I'll try google.

If you are doing Cheese Reaper Rush, he won't be able to get one Stalker... He can maybe get 1-2 Zealots before First Reaper comes in. Same as vs. other Terran. Also, this depends on the map a lot, if map is big, Reaper Cheese rush is not that great idea.
