Wouldn't hurt to have an offer draw option. But my crystal ball says somebody's gonna be throwing an offer draw too often, even when clearly defeated. It's just going to be as annoying as lift-off, but this time, we'll have nothing to stop it.

Therefore, a player should only be able to offer draw three times. If the opponent rejects three times, the one who offers the draw loses.

And regarding the Terran thing, the game should have a timer when no terran structures are on the ground. Should the terran player land it, he must stay there for some time in order to reset the no-structure-on-ground-defeat timer.

Say a 40 second timer starts ticking if the terran has no structure on the ground, and he must land somewhere and stay there for 70 seconds or lose the game.

    Still, it's annoying even so.

How about we make Overlords count as buildings, then. Give the Protoss some way of hiding a unit in the corner of the map that will ensure the enemy requires air units to win the game.

It seems silly to me that Terrans have this built in safety measure where they can simply frustrate their opponent into giving up if the game ends up in a stalemate.
Why don't you suck it up, princess? If you have no probes, no money, no nexus, and no army that can attack air, you are in NO position to claim authority or victory. No one said anything about Terrans thinking they've won just because they've lifted, but if you can avoid death then why the hell not? The Protoss certainly isn't in any better position, so what makes you feel so entitled to victory if you have nothing yourself that can retaliate?

Man what's with all the people whining about lifted off buildings now. You have a Zealot and a pylon vs some guy with a lifted off Starport. Therefore, the facts are he destroyed all your air attack capable units, and has earned himself a stalemate.

Im for this if they call it "offer stalemate" instead of "offer draw".

...for all the times SC was compared to chess in the past LOL

Play Protoss? Look for the map Photon Cannon Tactics in the NA server!

There is no stalemate. It's a pussy move and I just get up and go play another game, I'll leave my computer on all night. I would actually gladly accept a draw in those conditions, but since there is no draw/stalemate option I will never give that win to a cry baby who is going to sit in the corner.

This is however such a rare occurrence I don't really believe it needs a fix, even though the timer (which I also mentioned in another thread) with a much longer duration would work fine. Seriously if you play against a terran make one muta/corruptor/viking/phoenix/WHATEVER and put it in a corner. If the game comes to that annoying end fly said unit in and kill the building very slowly while laughing maniacally.

I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

I'd also suggest changing "Surrender" to "Yield", and make the button larger and graphically different then the other menu items, as well as visible from the main game UI.

There's a lot of newcomers to StarCraft who don't know what to do when they've been defeated in a match and become frustrated.

I agree with the "suck it up" attitude but why do I get the feeling that most of the people that support this problem are Terran players that probably use it themselves? (Not saying anyone particular in this topic, just saying)

Either way, a loss is a loss is a loss. They mean nothing unless you're actually trying to a pro-gamer. People worry about their records too much.

Well both players would have to agree to a draw, but definitely

Only needs to be done once. If a draw is offered, you could offer draw also, and if it's a 1v1, it ends right there.

    Draw option would nice indeed.

If a Terran player has one building left and the Protoss player has an army but no way of destroying that last remaining building, then the match is most definitely a draw.

In games were no one can win, (i.e. you both have no workers, no money and/or no way of destroying each others buildings) then that is, by definition, a draw.
