    Miss the Overmind? Want him back? Then get him here



    "I decided to make his voice like the voice of Zerg from StarCraft 1, replacing Queen's voice to Overmind's voice. Were also removed some stretching sounds and the whole reaction to 15% now blurts out faster, almost like in SC1.

    This mod is fully compatible with online, since game date isn't changed. Players without this mini-mod will simply hear the original (female) voice.

    In addition, it is not the voice of the zerg SC1, is redrafted in SoundForge original SC2 voice. How do I do it? Just made a lower tone of voice and 15% (approximately) hastened some replies, plus many replies have been removed stretching sounds (eg "Spawn more Overlo-oooooo-ords")

    Mod with Overmind's voice is available in 2 languages - russian and english

    How to install:
    1) Extract to this folder:
    ... \ StarCraft II Beta \ Mods \ LibertyMulti.SC2Mod \

    2) As a result:
    ... \ StarCraft II Beta \ Mods \ LibertyMulti.SC2Mod \ LocalizedData \ Sounds \ ZergUnitVO \ Queen \ <sound files>

    DELETE MOD (very easy) - delete folder 'LocalizedData' and voice will be back to standart SC2 voice.

    P.S. Next mod will change 80% music of game to old SC1 music, there are will be all old tracks for Zergs (in SC2 zergs have only 2 good tracks of 6), Terran music is little strange, but some tracks are nice, Protoss have only 2 tracks, and one track is blocked in game, so I replaced this 0sec track to one old Protoss track).     So basically he made all the normal sounds deeper. Whoopedy doo.

    It doesn't sound all that much like the Overmind, really.

    I'm not crazy about the muffled sound. At least the present voice is crisp and easy to understand.

    I'm also not too fond of just hearing the Queen's voice through filters and whatnot, but I gotta say that it really hits my nostalgia nerves to hear the SC1 music and sound effects . Zerglings <3

    Oh.. my... what did they do the Zerg. This sounds about a billion times better.

    Units feel more responsive, they sound more unique. You can hear the units eating minerals. Zerlings attack sound sounds amazing again, very clear and distinct.

    Damn someone needs to be fired in their sound department. Did Blizzard North take all the sound producers when they left?

    Can't say I'm a huge fan of the mod since its trying to bring back everything that was changed.

    The Overmind Voice doesn't sound all that cool in my opinion.

    The current Zerg announcer is bad but I feel it unnecessary to replace every sound file just to get that SC1 vibe.

    Wow. Zerg seems so much cooler with all those old sounds added. The new sounds really are pretty lackluster on the whole.

    The Overmind voice is far from perfect, but I suppose it's better than the current one - though I'm pretty much used to it now.

    I definitely think a mod replacing a lot of the new unit sounds with the old ones is a great idea, though. Adding in old music tracks is a great idea, too.
