A question about beta codes and bnet

After this question is definitively answered this can be closed.


I recieved 2 friend beta codes last night and the friend I gave the first code to said he couldn't use it because he didn't have a game attached to his account. I was under the impression that applied to opting in. Can anyone tell me if he's not looking in the right place?

At what point in the process does it deny him access?

WoW trial is related to your account as an individual game. He could try that.

Did he downloaded the Systemcheck file from battle.net and runned it once?
Did he use the right client? Different zones (US, EU, Korea) have different clients.

the terms say that Wow Trial doesnt count for beta application.

I got into the Beta without having a game attached to my account. Unless of course they changed that.

Ok he's in. He said last night it just gave him an error that said you can't do that without a game attached to your account, but this morning it went through without a hitch.
