Thread: What Will Raynor Do?

    20 bucks says:

Heart of the Swarm will be a prequel of the sorts to Wings of Liberty -- I can feel it.

The Zeratul vs Kerrigan scene is somewhere at mission 22 or something in Kerrigan's journey in Heart of the Swarm.

Raynor's Plot will be torn between giving kerrigan the artifacts or not, and Zeratul will be suspected of having been infested like the Matriarch. Raynor won't trust both of them and discover that Tychus has been misled by Mengks and is unknowingly working for him.

Since Tychus and Raynor were at odds regarding the Artifacts, Tychus while everyone's so tense sells the Artifacts to his contractor -- which he doesn't know is Mengks.

Matt saves the day by pulling Raynor (again) out from Char, while holding the dominion's forces at bay.

The Hyperion kabooms, and Raynor is given shelter by Artanis' DTs.

    TLDR:
    1. The Hyperion gets into some major battle with Mengks' forces. Outcome unknown. Raynor escapes.
    2. Raynor feels betrayed by Tychus. Mengks gets only some portion of the Artifacts. Tychus is in hiding due to Mengks' agents looking for him.
    3. The Engineer guy, Matt, and Everyone else is MIA.
    4. Zeratul's reliability is placed in question. Goes missing after the incident.
    5. Artanis shelter's Raynor from the other protoss chasing after him. Raynor is the only guy who might know where Tychus could be hiding.
    6. Kerrigan is divided, but strongly in her arrogance believe she can stop the arrival.
    7. We are hinted that the Protoss are divided on the matter of the arrival. Some hope for it, some resist it. Some just doesn't see the true value of the Artifacts. We can't tell for sure who's right about the main issue.

If I were to take that bet, you'd be owing me $20. It's been stated already that the three parts of the trilogy will all be in chronological order. When Wings of Liberty ends, is when the Heart of the Swarm begins.

It's a memory crystal from Zeratul, it's not the one that contains Zamara and Ulrezaj. That crystal was left to the Protoss on Elhna (ref: DT: Twilight). Zeratul's crystal is what opens up the Zeratul mission, which is a flashback at what happened to Zeratul at the Xel'Naga temple.

That's a hologram of a crystal, so maybe Raynor has to retrieve the crystal.

Zamara was inside Ramseys brain, not in the crystal. The crystal had nothing to do with the tumors.

He's cryptic due to the fact that he killed his matriarch. It's all described pretty well in Twilight.

No, but Zeratul used the crystal to transfer visions direct into Raynor's head. If Zamara was transferred along as well, Raynor would develop the tumors just like Ramsey.

Near the end of Twilight, Zamara was put in a crystal (though probably not this one).

I don't have time to fact check, but I thought all Zeratul handed Raynor was this. It wasn't a crystal itself, it held Zeratul's memory's and apparently had a hologram of a crystal. That crystal might have Zamara in it, but Raynor hasn't come in contact with it yet, and if he does he doesn't necessarily have to absorb Zamara like Ramsey did, the dark Templar store their memories in those crystals, so they must have some way of accessing them.

Yeah, that was the crystal, Roland.

I thought it was listed under Xel'Naga artifacts, but it looks like Dark Templar technology.

If it's based on Khaydarin crystals it could be "chameleon" technology, so it looks like it belongs to whoever got to it first, like the Uraj and Khalis become Dark and High templar artifacts respectively.

You've made the presumption that Raynor is the master of Kerrigans fate, however, Heart of the Swarm is surely going to revolve around Kerrigan. Raynor being the first expansion is going to have limited control of what he can do in the series unless we are reunited with him in the Protoss campaign as an ally and/or in a mini campaign.

Kerrigan is always manipulative and I think she's going to be directing things whether we're aware of it or not until it's too late.

A previous poster confirmed that these will, in fact, be in chronological order, but that doesn't remove the possibility of flash back missions within the main story line. I especially see this in the case of Kerrigan and the Zerg campaign.
