Warning! Spoiler-esque video ahead:
From the above video, it sounds that at some point where Raynor will hold Kerrigan's life in his hands. This could be anything, from Raynor launching a full-on attack against Kerrigan or she's in a bind and needs saving. The important point is that Raynor will be placed in a situation where he gets to decide her fate. The fact that it's been foreshadowed means that it will happen at some point (otherwise, where's the payoff?). Now, I'm not saying that it will happen at the climax of Wings of Liberty or that it will even take place in the Terran campaign. However, it makes more sense to be in here or Heart of the Swarm, considering the characters and subplots it involves as well as the timing; Legacy of the Void is too far away from now for the payoff.
But the more important question is; what do you think Raynor will do when he's put in the situation? I can think of few outcomes:
- He turns Kerrigan 'good'; whether by de-infestation, restoring her original personality, etc.
- They talk and console their differences.
- He captures her and somehow restrains her.
- He reluctantly spares her life but walks away disgusted with himself.
- He says, "Screw you, Zeratul" and offs Kerrigan; whether shooting her himself or leaving her to die, etc. Of course, whether she actually does die is a different question.
I can see any of the above happening. However, I think one of the first two have definitely a high chance; depending on whether 'Infested' Kerrigan's personality is the same as when she was just a Ghost or is somehow being influenced by the will of the Zerg. I say this based on the titles of the campaigns. Firstly, Kerrigan will play the protagonist for 'Heart of the Swarm', which suggests that we might be seeing a 'nicer' Kerrigan during the campaign or as part of her character development. Another thing is that Raynor's campaign is called 'Wings of Liberty'. Seeing how there haven't been much attention on Raynor launching a successful rebellion against Mengsk and that having him in charge would ruin his 'last honest man in the universe'/average Joe charm, it could mean that the title could be referring to something else. Perhaps him letting go of his grudges? Perhaps Kerrigan specifically?
