Thread: High Temps

Ultralisks DONT SUCK - 600 HP and AoE damage + burrow and headbutt on buildings.
They're kinda like the Thor as far as tanking goes in that they gobble up a ton of damage, even if they won't survive it. Like siege tanks in siege mode just tickle them. But in tank mode, or with hydralisks or immortals or marauders they get taken down pretty quickly.

Yeah? Hilarious but, once won a game with only zealots. Lots of them.

ugh i totally agree with you... actually i would prefer the longer more cumulative damage than the instantaneous damage. its FREAKING 80 damage.... dts do 50 already does the nerf have to sink this low? i remember in sc1 when i would be at attacked by like 20 hydras and i had 2 high temps and a few zealots and i was able to beat them now it would never happen >__>

Brutax does make a good point...maybe the damage was hit a bit too hard, especially when you factor in the fact that HP is higher in general in SC2.im not saying make it double, but maybe 90-ish would be nice, or hell 100?

teching all the way to HT's for it to be only good at hurting minions and only softening up the main threat doesnt make sense considering their cost.

Archons need to be fixed, they are broken essentially. I think the community needs to drive this point home, we dont advocate it enough. The archon use to be a awesome cool unit people would actually be afraid of, now its a joke "oh look archon...yeah w/e zealots go kill it"

You know I kinda like having Hydralisks.

    Just 'saying.

Hydras can't actually storm dodge, you know. And they kinda cost like... 1.5x as much.

in a 2v2 match, my opponent was almost killed, but then i basically single handedly won the game using mostly psi storm to even the odds. it is most definitely powerful - it's just not the insta-kill spell that it was in sc1, since smart casting would make it way too easy to use.

Archons are meant to fill the gap left by going Templar over Robo or Stargate. They tank like the Immortal, do anti-light splash like the Colossus, hit strong like Void rays, and counter Mutas like the Phoenix. They just don't do it well enough to be built on purpose. They're what you make when your DT's become useless from detection and your HT run out of energy.
    Ahem.
Archons have a range of two. And their splash isn't that strong too.
They are not as good as Immortals at tanking. Even though they are not armored.
Their attack isn't as strong as one of Void's. You know why? Ungodly slow attack rate. Hell, while everyone else got stronger, Archons got retarded. They should have a cooldown of 1.2, at least.
Phoenixes kinda suck at countering Mutas.

Archons must be worthy of being built for themselves, not to fill some gaps like uselessness of energy-empty HT.

They only suck at countering MASS Muta.

Well, any zerg player will build either enough Mutas to destroy toss; or to force him to counter them and then kill him with, say, Hydra.
