I posted this on a different forum as well, so sorry for the copy+pasting
I just started playing the beta last night and I think I'm going to main Zerg. As far as actual gameplay goes, though, I'm still quite a noob; (re)learning all the intricacies of Starcraft is indeed a daunting task.
My buddy and I just finished our placement matches for 1v1 and 2v2. So far I'm in gold in 1v1, but I really think I just got lucky by getting players that were far worse than even me. In 2v2, I think my friend and I are in bronze. (Was in bronze, that is; the game keeps resetting my placement matches and makes me do them again.) I make a myriad of really dumb mistakes and I still don't know build orders or macro/micro techniques yet, so I'm still "working out the kinks."
So here's my proposal: are there any newer or lesser-skilled players that would like to play? The way I see this working out is a "mini-community" of upcoming SC2 players; we would learn the nuances of Starcraft 2 together--embarrassing nuke-loses and all. I'm sure this has been done before, but I'd like to try playing with some other people from time to time. I just want to play with some friendly people and have a rad time.
For now I'm really trying to learn some 2v2 strategies, so if anyone is down for some (possible) trial-and-error games or placement matches, just send a message or request. I don't know how much I'll be on considering I have finals and three research papers due this week (damn you, psychology major!), but hopefully we can get some good games in.
My in-game name on the US server is shookones.orderform
