Stalkers can only "pick off marines from a distance" if the Marine line is perpendicular to the Stalker line.

And if it isn't? If the two are parallel? Then there's no difference at all between what happens with ground armies and what happens with air ones.

Even then, we see the degree of control being equal, if not worse, between ground and air armies. I think people would expect a greater degree of maneuverability from flying fighters then some wierd podular thing with 4 legs. I mean in terms of gameplay. Not just lore.

Besides, how would better, deeper, micro hurt anything?

(I'm not arguing his ludicrous point that micro is dead solely because of moving shot, just the specific unit changes hes advocating, except the one to the viking.)

It would hurt if it made attacking buildings with air units unfeasible, which is what the article's author suggests is an excellent feature of Brood War. Somehow.

Why would that occur though? If attacking buildings was feasible in BW, how could it possibly be less potent with weaker pheonixes?

But he says it wasn't feasible in BW. And Phoenixes that could maneuver swiftly would be more powerful. (If they wouldn't, that invalidates his whole line of reasoning about air units being WEAK and needing to be IMPROVED.)

Wait. Why is not being able to building harrass with mutalisks even a bad thing? Does anyone even building harass over worker harass? Never seen it once in SC2 :/

Mutalisks are not the only air unit. I agreed with the change if it were Phoenix exclusive, but the OP is suggesting it happen to ALL air units, not just the Phoenix. That would affect a lot more than the Muta. Just as an example, look at what he thinks will happen to the Banshee as a direct result of this change:

    Banshee

Would require less range (6 range is ridiculous).
As a result spore colonies and canons wouldn’t be as useless as they are now.
Damage could be nerfed. Banshees would be able to kite perfectly. No need for it to 2shot workers anymore.
Movement speed could be increased (why would you want units with the speed of a sc1 Scout in Starcraft 2? Didn’t you learn anything?).
It becomes a pure army unit. Base harassment becomes almost impossible.

The only other relevant unit this would apply to would be Vikings, which I stated I disagreed with.

Also corruptors, but I think that unit could use a couple more tricks :/
